Didn’t know where else to put this.

Just me and the missus watching a celebrity singing show last night and Tyger Drew Honey is singing (I’ve never heard of him either).

Cuts to his parents in the audience (Lindsay and Linzi), clapping and singing along.

Me: “I recognise his dad’s face” thinking he was part of a music group or something. We still didn’t recognise the face even when we rewound and paused.

    Me: “Google the singer’s dad”.

Her: “Err, it’s Ben Dover, a porn star, how do you recognise his face?”

    In my head: “Oh fuck”.

Me: “Oh, he’s well known in the soft porn industry, surprised you haven’t heard of him, no big deal”.

    Her: “Really?”

    Look of disdain.

    #awkward

You not know who his mum is either.....???

    Linzi Drew....."centrefold model"

    Btw.....Tyger was in Outnumbered.
  • Those Steven seagal bits on channel 4
  • Watching a tv programme* that is no better than mildly interesting and then the adverts come on and give you a sharp reminder that what you are watching really isn't worth sitting through 3 mins of commercials for. It's like big companies are queuing up to tell you that you're wasting your life.

*Happened to me watching Big Fat Quiz tonight.
  • Budget airlines who charge you to check in luggage so you have to cram everything into a flight case only to then put the crammed case in the hold anyway because everyone else does the same thing and there's not enough space on the plane

Which gives them the opportunity to invent 'Early Boarding'.
  • Speed control "measures" on motorways. Coming back from Coventry earlier & having spent 20 odd miles in the 50 mph restriction "smart motorway upgrade" some numpty in a control box in the middle of nowhere thinks it would be fun to limit the speed to 60 mph for another 10 miles for no apparent reason. The traffic hasn't got any busier or heavier.....so why ??

    Does my fecking head in!!

I've just done the same journey and noticed this.

I'll add - people who drive old cars without cruise control that constantly change their speed in an average speed check zone.
  • I just drive at 70 then park up for ten minutes and have a sandwich before going through the final number plate readers.

Whilst dealing with the pain last night I read somewhere that Aloe Vera Mouthwash helps a lot so have gone out to get that today in the hope it helps

Thankfully the pain is subsiding (even without the mouthwash) so can put off the Dentist for a bit longer (Of course I will go if the pain doesnt go away)

I used to petrified of the dentist. One day I broke part of a tooth and knew I had to go despite my fear. The dentist didn’t hurt at all, my fear went but was rapidly replaced with another, the fear of paying. Bloody expensive.

I've always hated the dentist yet didnt help when I needed work done a good few years ago - Basically let them get on and do it without anesthetic on the area because it didnt seem to be working so just let them get on with it

Went elsewhere the last time (about seven or eight years ago now) to get a tooth pulled and whilst I wouldnt say it didnt hurt at all there is still a part of me that worries it was a one off - Bloody expense like you say dont help though
  • Watching a tv programme th at you think is "new" or "current" only to find that it's a repeat. In this case the BAFTA tribute to Billy Connolly.

Watched the last 20 mins last night......found it quite good (Not really a BC fan) until they had a load of celebs congratulating him......one being Robin Williams !!! When was this programme first aired & why was it being shown on prime time tv now ???

Get some oil of cloves, drop it into a small shot of gin and sloosh around the effected area. Alternatively get some oil of cloves and chuck it straight in the bin. Now use the gin you have saved to make so many G&Ts that you no longer notice, leat alone care about, the toothache.

Why do you have to pause before you F**T
  • Celebrity quiz shows where you have to Google to find out what they do. Just been watching Tipping Point & Amy Childs was on ( The Only Way Is Essex ). Mind you I should have guessed that by the sound & state of her.

Sky want £14 to buy and keep the original Mary poppins or £3.50 to rent it!

If the new one wasn’t out it’d £3.50 to keep.

(Yes I saw the new Mary Poppins tonight)

    Edit: happy new Year all
  • Booking family holidays to center parcs is apparently a curse and is starting to get very annoying.
Two years ago we booked a surprise week away for my mums 60th. Two days before, she had a nasty hypoglycaemic episode so that was postponed.
Last year, annual family trip booked in February, I snapped my wrist a week before
It’s my brothers 30th next week so guess what we did. That’s right, surprise trip to center parcs. Selfish bugger admitted to hospital on Sunday with a ruptured appendix.

I won’t even get started on how annoying darenth valley have been in the last 48hours.
