Great seeing him get his first CAFC goal today, not the prettiest but I'm delighted for him. Thought he had a good game too, him and Youga combined well on a few occasions.
What have they been feeding him on? He seems to have bulked up considerably since earlier in the season, and took and dished out a couple of clatterings today.

Yeah I thought that as well. I liked him in the position he played in today. He's got excellent technique. He's not a winger but actually it's no good playing with wingers if you can't get the ball to them enough which has been our problem this season too much. Basey allowed us to keep possession well and his dead ball kicks were excellent as well. He really is one for the future.
I thought his corners were terrible. Instead of aiming them at the first defender he was putting them OVER the first man to where some Charlton players were standing.
This resulted in a Charlton players having to head the ball towards the goal on more than one occasion so causing them serious headaches and no doubt putting them at risk from long term brain damage.
Wagstaff and Shelvey had the same problem. Don't they coach these kids at all : -)

We're obviously missing Ambrose, Henry.
Don't worry Pards will put it right next season. ;o)
I like the fact that Grant Basey not only has the 1st touch and ability to just slot into the team as if he's always been there - but his cool enough and strong enough to handle the physical contest.
Just think how physically lightweight the midfield has been this season.
Well done, Grant - and Jonjo.
