he was brilliant for one so young , had a volley headed off the line and a close range shot blocked, the one shining light in what was a throw back to the old days of following charlton , crap team and all too predictable result and the usual pitiful away following.....
as he walked off the pitch he looked absolutely gutted but still manage to throw his charlton shirt to the handful of supporters at the front of the away end
Let's hope that as with Parker and Bowyer that he's brought on gradually and developed rather than becoming a regular starter. Too much football and he'll run the risk of unnecessary injuries.
yesterday he looked capable of running our midfield and put the static Semedo and Holland partnership to shame
but as people say, he's too young to be an every week player - i just hope he carries on his development and gets a few outings Pre Season and from the bench/in the Cup at the start of next season as we've got some talent here in a couple of years time
If fit I'd start him next week, but ensure that he plays only once a week next season at the most. He's still growing - examples of where talented players have been thrown in at the deep end always end up with those players missing chunks of the season - think Gerard and Owen etc, while Parker and Bowyer were brought on gradually and subsequently have suffered fewer injuries.
Pards has already said in his Barnsley post match comments - that he was very pleased with Shelvey, that he will figure prominently next season but won't play week in week out.
[cite]Posted By: northstandsteve[/cite]i heard from my contact at Barnet pard's is unsure about Wright.
Any idea why as i thought Wright was getting good reviews at Barnet. Is it to do with the step up? Cos the way we're playing the step up isn't that much!
[cite]Posted By: Oggy Red[/cite]Barnet reckon Wrighty is above their level and, in their opinion, already good enough to play in the Championship at 18.
Strange - what do they know that Pards doesn't?
Pards was ready to bin Youga but injuries forced him to get him back.

Really hope thats not true, if you look on the forums on Barnet's site, they're all saying how brilliant he's been. Pretty much all say he'll be a Premier League player in the future.
Wright and Arter were the two Pards was praising early on in the season, saying they might get a game or two in the league by the end of the season.
so do i.i would be prepared to sit back and enjoy the youngsters next year like we did when curbs bloodied them,it was enjoyable.i wouldn't be so up tight re being high up i the league if i was watching the kids.

Try Goodfrey up front alongside Gray aswell
as the only bugger in a Red shirt that looked like he wasn't on the beach he more than deserves his place next week. first name on the team sheet.
All published on the OS, last night.

I do wonder about his judgement sometimes!

If not, why is Pardew picking Thatcher ahead of him?
I believe Kelly is injured but with Pards you never know!?
