Stoke v Palarse

  • It's not really about Palace anyway. We should be able to make up two points on them and if we can't then we simply don't deserve anything anyway. The real issue is Wolves - if they win their two games in hand they could even be going for automatic promotion, the top 6 will be well away, and all else will be meaningless.
  • [cite]Posted By: AFKABartram[/cite]Blackpool v West Brom and Sheff U v Sheff W tomorrow

West Brom are irrelevant to us.
  • Why be so gloomy, you lot?
I thought you'd all given up by last Christmas, anyway ....... ;o)

Just see how it all unfolds. Lot more fun that way.
  • I think that if we get anything less than 10 points we'll struggle to make it. Looking at wolves run in it doesn't look that easy and I could see them only getting 9 or less points out of 18 as the teams in this division have been inconsistent to say the least.
  • realistically we need to win all four to get in. Win three and draw one then there is a slim chance. Still a possibility that Stoke or Watford or Hull could implode under the pressure but it would have to be a disasterous run for one of the current top five to lose out.
  • And often Large, that is exactly what happens. At least one implodes under pressure.

But Charlton have to do their part.
  • [cite]Posted By: Weegie Addick[/cite]I need to be even more pessimistic - it just worked for one!

Ledge - difference is they have a manager who may be a w*nker but has some idea what he's doing....

totally agree weegie, the difference is Warnock has given Sinclair license to go out and just play, the quote from ledge i don't agree with.
a)Palace's kids our head and shoulders above anything we have got at the moment.

b)If we had kids of that ability and nothing else like Warnock had,the fans would back them 100 %

    c) Warnock is a very good manager despite peoples feelings about him,who knows how to get the best from his players and motivate them as well.I for one would rather have Warnock over Pardew any day of the week.
  • agree northstandsteve....
if pards hadn't wasted the warchest on some(so far) duff purchases and only had a mixture of our kids and a few more senior pros the charlton crowd would be far more patient than it is at the moment
not sure i'd have warnock over pards but he clearly has got his team motivated and over achieving this year where as we appear to have definitely under achieved..how are they above us ffs...grrrrrrrrrrrrr

True, but you will need to catch us too.
  • the question i ask everyone is this,if Warnock had found himself in Pards position at the start of the season, with the money he had to spend and the re-building that needed doing,do you think we would be higher in the league than we are.

    I personally believe we would.

  • Stop with the "if's" Steve, it'll drive you crazy.
  • Sinclair is a class act - anybody who saw his appearances for Chelsea in the cup would know that.

How many minutes was he on the pitch for us - does anybody know?

I saw him for about 20 at the end versus Bristol City.
  • feck him steve he is a knut i can not imagine anything worse than that tosser i have hated him 4 years he may be a good manager no denying but as a representive of any club he is just annoying
  • he played 80mins against Preston ka.
  • [cite]Posted By: son of selhurst[/cite] you will need to catch us too.

exactly, all this baloney about don't worry about other results is ridiculous cos the other results DO matter, we shouldn't be able to reach the play offs but can due to the inconsistant form of others in this league...
the more teams that we have to catch the harder it will be to make the 6th spot..FACT

yep 80 minutes in a game where eveyone was shite, sums Pards up,he was class last night and would have been for us given a proper chance.I would have him over cook any day of the week.

With regard to Warnock it's like Robbie Savage and Danny Mills you hate against you but love em when they are with you.

no chance with Colin, some of us have some moral backbone
  • But you havent seen Cook yet either nss, n the next 4 games cook could be awesome, lets just wait and see and save any post mortems until the season is over.

By looking at all details and questioning decisions on the season as a whole now will put a negative slant on things (because the season has been cack) but the fact we still have a shout of promotion means we should be concentrating our efforts on supporting the players, the manager and each other.

    Come on you reds
  • All we can do is try to win each remaining game and see where that takes us. Palace still have to go to Watford and Hull so if we win our 4 games i think we'll finish above them. As has been stated though, it's Wolves that are the problem with their 2 games in hand. And although the other teams up there have tough run ins, personally i think the fact we've got to face 3 teams battling to avoid relegation doesn't make our run in any easier at all. Anyone can beat anyone in this league.
  • I disagree. I think that we simply have to do better than the teams that do worse than the other teams that don't get enough points to catch those other teams which make mistakes. In such a case the teams that score more goals than the teams that lose two consecutive matches will have a problem catching the teams that don't slip up. Should this not occur, then all it needs is for the league to deduct some points from the teams that have more points than we do providing that we don't win too many points. If all else fails we should play three up front to counter the strong defenses of the teams that win more points than the team one place above us at any given moment. It may get all more rather complicated than this simple explanation but I hope that's clear enough.

Succinct, to the point and written with clarity. I wholly concur.
