I really don't think this is a poor division at all. 3 Fa cup semi finalists. Anyone can beat anyone on their day. Its not a poor division, its an exciting, competitive division and the 3rd most watched league in the world behind the prem and la liga.
Maybe people only consider it poor compared with the circus extravaganza of the Premier.
It's actually a hugely competitive league and as results have proven all season, very tight.
The top clubs have all been beaten by the relegation pack - yet these same top teams have all beaten each other on a frequent basis.
There's a lot of average players, maybe ...... but at Championship level all players are still very good players.
And there is also some quality.
In the Prem, you can frequently get unexpected time on the ball.
In the Champs, you are closed down quickly, denied space & time - and of course, it's a more physical contest, especially considering the long ball game some manager's insist their team must play.
And that's bound to affect the quality of individual player's performances - even the best players in the league.
Is that what people mean by a 'poor league' .....?
If you want to know how good the Championship really is look at the sides in the top 3 positions. Bristol City, Stoke and Watford.
Two of those sides only know long ball football and Bristol City are a surprise package who will never be anywhere near the top next season if they fail to go up.
The fact that the form team is Hull says it all.
The league is awful. I agree with Oggy that is much more competitive but in terms of quality it's terrible. Don't know why people deny it.

Totally agree. You only have to look at us. We've been on a terrible run since around Christmas and yet are STILL in with a shout of promotion, albeit via the play offs. That can't be right, surely?
I think we can only determine the quality of this league with what happens next year.
Will the 3 promoted teams fail in the Prem?
Will the 3 relegated prem teams run away with the Champs?
Will the 3 promoted League 1 teams be promotion contenders?
Will the 3 relegated champ teams struggle in League 1?
Personally I dislike the deferential way that this league is referred to as crap. We may be here for some time.
Barnsley who are in a relegation spot with 6 games to go could qualify for a play off spot (not accounting for teams playing each other) netting off bla bla) with 64 points

i.e the harder I practice, the luckier I get...
I think if we win our last four, we'll get lucky – some deserved luck – and sneak into 6th spot
not sure we 'deserve' any luck to be honest.
I doubt that even 4 wins would be enough and I think we'll miss out on the last day.
