  • got to be Browny on radio london or scotty minto on sky
  • aint there just loads.

Dont mind Minto, he is an ok media dudeman.
  • ok beat me to it nla, but forgot bout brownie, legend.
  • brownie rocks when were shite he says we were shite when we play ok he doesnt oversell it and when we play well he i vocal about who and why they played well brownie is da man
  • Browny.

Always gives a very fair summary. His analysis earlier in the season of the strengths and weaknesses of Jon Fortune was spot on.
  • I think Browny has won this one hands down!
  • Lawrie Madden who I enjoy his work from a media perspective but hated him as a player

Paul Walsh who was great as young player but I hate him for his media work
  • thats cos he never denies playing for us not like the other judas bstds
  • Paul Elliot.
  • Mark Bright is good too...

    Leave me alone!
  • scotty minto is very impressive, love browny and Paul elliott is extremely knowledgeable.
  • Browny is the most 'Charlton' but Brighty's not too bad considering he's also ex Palarse.

No-one putting in a good word for Crooksy then? ;-)
  • Shaun Bartlett was pretty shocking on the Beebs African Nations Cup coverage a year or two back.

John Barnes is even worse as a pundit/link man.

    Mullery is a complete tosspot.

Gavin Peacock does ok, as does Scotty Minto. Bobby Stuart is a top man - albeit on the speedway!
  • Peacock is too slick for me. Mark Bright is an excellent pundit I reckon.
  • We clearly have the most ex players working in the media than any other club

Minto looks like he's already on Sky's fast track, has that suit and hair that doesn't move look that all the SS anchors have...

Brighty, Crooks and Peacock are all pretty good and know their stuff.
  • Minto for me

Dont listen to much Radio or im sure Brown would be up there
  • Browny - definitely!

    .

I'd say Liverpool. They are everywhere.

    Hansen
    Lawrenson
    Walsh
    Thompson
    Etc
    Etc
  • Crooks has to be the worst - I don't count Barnsey since he was a bit fly by night otherwise he would be considered as making Crooks look good. I like Minto and Brownie does a good job. BTW Where is brownie now, is he still at West Ham or did he come back to us?
  • Remember meeting Brownie at a City Addicks do a few years ago. One of the nicest guys ever & he told some absolutely brilliant stories. My favourite was concerning a young Spotty Parker being absolutely terrorised by Sweaty Balmer on a pre-season tour in the West Country. Good luck to him. He speaks so much sense on the radio that surely he could cut it as a coach or a manager somewhere.
  • Definitely Browny.

    John Salako's ok.

Dunno Henry, there is a few of that Liverpool of the 80's but off the top of my head we have the following Ex players/Managers doing National TV & Radio

    Minto
    Bright
    Salako
    Crooks
    Peacock
    Walsh
    Mullery
    Barnes
    Elliot
    Dowie
    Powell

Then i guess there is Jimmy Hill connection also

**Edited to include WSS & Suzi's additions**
  • and Dowie, T
  • chris powell did a bit
  • Wasn't Holland a co-commentator on a game recently.

Plus Bartlett and Fish have covered the African Nations for the Beeb, and Bradley Allen has done the Radio a few times as well.
  • Hasn't Kiely done some radio stuff in recent years?

Yeah saw Sir Chris as a pundit on the WBA at home game - seemed a bit more timid than usual.

Like Elliott - Paul Walsh is a terrible commentator
