..... but please count to 10 between typing and clicking on "Add your comments" - I for one really couldn't cope with another slag-a-thon just now without there at least being something constructive to it as it's all been said before.
  • play some youngsters in the next game......give them a chance....they're hungry for a game.....you never know it might work
  • i don't understand the management team's thinking in the tteam selection. I agree with the ambrose playing off the front man BUT not Lita. He is not a target man he needs to play off a target man.

Other than that minto said we played well just lost the art in scoring.
  • 7 games to go and we're in 9th place, our lowest point of the season I think, only 11 points off an automatic promotion place...

no, even I don't believe it

with 3 strikers on the bench!
  • I was talking with the wife today about a holiday in May. I told her we could go away, especially around the bank holiday weekend. I guess it'll be ok to get away now?
  • srill 21 points to play for, its in our own hands, I did the predictor thing had us down to lose v Burnley, Tractors and West Brom and we still get to the play offs - so lets not panic!!!!!
  • If anyone believes we can still get in the play offs after looking at the table and the remaining fixtures, then I believe they are in denial. It won't happen. That's not me being depressive - I've come to terms with it and look forward to next season.
  • I'm disappointed, but given our stop-start season these sort of results weigh a little heavier - unfortunately we have given ourselves little or no room for cock-ups, but when all is said and done I'm still a Charlton fan and will be in the morning and the morning after that and so on into infinity.

Two goals in four, We've got so many strikers this is crazy

thing is though we have 2 tough home games, and wolves have 2 games in hand. it's so tight, but what with the games that i've just said we could slip further and further away.

And the last time one of those forwards scored was March 1st vs Sheff Utd.

Not panicing Kap, just REALLY disappointed that we're now looking to have to put a run together to make the play-offs

Of course we can still make the play offs! Whether we will or not is obviously a different question, but to saying we can't make it is just crazy. And this coming from the man who got my quiz question right the other week too!
    ;o)

    I blame Andrew Mills
  • Does it really matter if we get in the play-offs?

Does anyone seriously think we'd win them anyway?

Personally I'm find the prospect of watching the FA Cup semis more interesting.
  • yeah i could see us winning them - i think - lol
  • Right now I can't but if we do enough to sneak into the play-offs who knows.

Looking at Pards record at West Ham he got them up via the play off in his second season, which is good.

In his first season he lost the play off final to Iain Dowie's Palace, which is Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.

Just trying to cheer everyone up ; - )
  • Ok, here's the super optimistic view. We can storm into the play offs winning five of the last seven games and it always seems to be the form team that gets promoted.

Someone's got to win the FA cup............. :-)
  • Can we safely say that we have well and truely started our annual end of season slump! Bloody Curbishley......................
  • [cite]Posted By: Reamsofverse[/cite]I think in all honesty we all expected to fall a few places today which is exactly what has happened. but on the other hand none of us thought at 3pm last week that we would lose 3 games in a week.

We are 9th because that is where we deserve to be after 39 games. Being in the play-offs is one thing staying there is another, unfortunately we have not been good enough to do it so now it is somebody elses turn.

The question now ,is what we are going to do about it, we can let the season fade away feeling sorry for ourselves or roll up our sleeves and say right 7 games to go all to play for.

I fancy it will be the second option but Pardew has to roll his sleeves up ae well and pull his socks up and install some passion and determination, if we still fail then at least we tried and gave it a go but as soon as he and the players get it through their heads that as it stands there are 8 teams better than us and the god given right to be in the top 6 is just a myth after all, the better.

Pardew and co my message is if you really think you are deserving of a top 6 finish, go out and earn it, that way nobody can criticise.

Can't argue with any of that. In fact it was pretty much what I was going to write in the Kentish Times article this week but I'll just rip off Reams instead. He'll never see it in Wales anyway : - )
  • would u prefer to push for the play-offs win them but then get munched in the prem like Derby or wait another season build-up then push for auto promo next season?
  • Yeah reach playoffs at least. Not doing so would be a real downer for players and fans. I agree we would get mullered in prem with this team.
  • [cite]Posted By: loloblader[/cite]would u prefer to push for the play-offs win them but then get munched in the prem like Derby or wait another season build-up then push for auto promo next season?
Or would you prefer to get promoted, get munched for a season and use the £30 million you'd get for finishing last to build a team to go straight back up again?
  • Yeah maybe. Better off than 9th place
  • All I know is pards has to go end of the year...appalling buys and loan deals.....we need central mid players..Zheng is a lightweight forward tryin to play midfield....you need steel in this league which we ain't got....mid table is where we will finish....see ya pards jog on in the ferrari !!!!!!
