Pardew Out!

edited March 2008 in General Charlton
As an offensive manager he has a lot to offer, however the defense all season has been left wanting, no matter who he puts in....... Mind you the offence is now long ball only, hit it high and throw it long!!! What happened to the 'we will play our way out of this division'? We looked like relegation candidates and PNE looked like promotion chasers!!

So go Al go!! Only a few matches left and you still do not know your best 11. Just getting in more players and hoping for the best does not constitute good management. Also what is the point of yet another striker (Lita) when our midfield is clueless without the creative midfielder who you just sold!!?

I canna take it captain!!! I cant watch anymore off that, all you eternal optimists must surely realise that we are shiite, no doubt I will still get the 'theres still x amont of games left' zzzzzzzzz! Wake up, Pardew has bought a load of shit in the transfer window(s), we cannot string three passes together, we all heard the ironoic cheers when we did! its embarassing (again), then I get home and watch Barnsley turn over Chelsea, honestly could we do that ? We all know the answer.
Sad very sad!
BTW, Halford should never wear the shirt again!
To finish with a positive Matt Holland = player of the season without a doubt!

  • wait and see mate, theres more turns in this yet,no team has\made it yet,we will beat burnley
  • Pards did not sell Reid step forward Murray.

Player of the Year = Weaver.
  • I just dont understand!Against Palace, Stoke and Sheffield United we had so much passion! But then today(which i didnt go to because we were so poor tuesday night),Bristol City and Watford...we just had no passion whatsoever! We have got to many soft players who think there to good for this league!Watching the way Bristol City played tuesday night and the way their crowd got behind their team all game made me realise, i miss old little charlton!
Take the likes of Kinsella, Mendonca, Youds and Keithy Brown, we have no players in our current team who are anywhere near them in terms of passion and the love for the game!
  • [cite]Posted By: cafc_se7[/cite]i miss old little charlton

me too, give me a team of Leaburn's, Robbo's and Brown's anyday
  • [quote][cite]Posted By: pete_tong1[/cite]Pards did not sell Reid step forward Murray.

    yep true

Nothing Pards could do unless the board would offer the bloke the same wages or more to stay or turn down that amount of money

So the selling off players come on people you cant blame Pards FFs
  • i have made that point time after time reams, the playoffs is a lottery for teams that cant go up the right way, personally third should mean promotion,i also believe he had time to keep us up or at least go down fighting,i still think theres turns in this league, bristol city are not there yet and there top!
  • going over to look

Reams said 'He, Pads may have no control over selling players but it is solely his responsibility for who he buys/loans and the majority have been piss poor, not fit to wear the shirt.'

Hasnt Mr Murray got a huge say of the playing side now ? Which has been mentioned in the official publications.

  • [cite]Posted By: Reamsofverse[/cite]Very well said Steve, I loved it today as he walked off towards the tunnel he heard me alright and when our eyes met I thought yeh come on then you useless piece of shit.

Bollox to The cup final and promotion with West Ham, bollox to we are still 5th, bollox to there are 9 games left and bollox to a two year plan and bollox to him as a manager.

That's really it for me when he goes I'll get on a train again, Burnley is an hour away but im going nowhere near iv'e had enough of his piss poor management and his wasting of my money and time.

Yeah, right - just like you were never coming on here again. Look mate, we've all got the ump this evening, so my advice to you is turn the computer off, pour yourself a drink and watch a film. There's no point you getting all worked up like this again, is there? Go on, you know it makes sense. It wont seem quite as bad in the morning.
  • [cite]Posted By: Reamsofverse[/cite]Sorry Pete I forgot, of course he has as his public criticism of Diawara proved not good enough for Charlton but good enough to play week in week out for Bordeaux who are pushing Lyon all the way in France .

    .
I think we all know that Muray's off the cuff comment was something he regretted making, one of his few rare gaffes, but equally something the anally retentive like to remember after every lost game. As for Diawara, it seems he didn't settle in the UK and wanted a return to France where I think he felt more comfortable, a shame as I thought he'd make a very effective centre-back at this level, but it was clear his heart wasn't in it.

Since we are discussing him, explain to me why Diawara who plays "week in week out" has only featured in 17 of Bordeaux's 27 league matches to date this year?

Good to see that you are still failing to check your stats again Reams...and how did I guess that you'd be gleefully and repetitiously calling for Pardew to get sacked?

How many threads will you start/invade this week?
  • bfr give me an assessment of pardew coz i think he is a shite manager who believes he is more important than anyone else at the club

No, Murray is chairman of Charlton Athletic Football Company Ltd, the company that runs the club, rather than the holding company Charlton Plc.
  • [cite]Posted By: Reamsofverse[/cite]Your right off_it after all we've had 13 out of the last 17 "It wont seem quite as bad in the morning." to get used to it.

But that's my point mate - it's not as if we aren't used to this sort of thing. So why get all worked up about it again? It's the same old same old.
  • [cite]Posted By: northstandsteve[/cite]bfr give me an assessment of pardew coz i think he is a shite manager who believes he is more important than anyone else at the club

He's hardly a "shite" manager, he has an excellent track record with Reading and West Ham, and I don't see any other outstanding candidates out there that I would rather have, unless Mourinho wants a real challenge.

Pards has taken a new team to fifth in the division, however consistency has been a problem and I think for all the personnel changes elsewhere in the squad that we are too weak in the centre of midfield, which is about the only position we have failed to reinforce with all the transfer dealings. That is where matches are invariably won and lost and we get muscled out of games there too often.

Matty Holland tries his socks off, but he's hardly the type that will win a lot of possession and command the centre of the park, Semedo is ok, but naturally defensive, while Ambrose lacks the physical stature. I'd make it a priority to ship in a ball winning midfielder in the close season.
  • [cite]Posted By: Reamsofverse[/cite]Listen pal it's the same old story, I bit my tongue before slating Pardew but as so many others were doing it I had my say but surprise surprise not a word about other peoples comments so it's let's all target reams again and to be honest it's really beginning to piss me off.

"Let's all target reams"? Oh do turn it in - that particular record really does get a bit boring after a while mate. What on earth do you think makes you so important all of a sudden that people would "target" you?

Look, I'm not after a row - I was trying to do you a favour. But I tell you what, go ahead - knock yourself out, it don't bother me. You can tap away til your hearts content and hijack every bleedin thread on here, throw a hissy fit saying how everyone hates you and you're never coming back on here again - again! - if you like. And then when you've had the chance to calm down you can come back on - because you know you will - admit you were a little bit over the top and everything will be alright again, until the next time - when round we go again!

You see what I'm saying? So, do yourself a favour, pour yourself a stiff one, put your feet up in front of the box and believe me when I say that it definitely wont all seem as bad in the morning.
  • [cite]Posted By: Reamsofverse[/cite]Off_it You saying that I was a little over the top is your respected opinion but I am not one of these who goes on forums looking for everybody else's agreement, I say how I feel tell it as I see it so I don't think it warrants you saying I went over the top.

So, you can come on and say what you want but when I say what I want it isn't warranted? You see where I'm going with this?

Anyway, as I said mate, not looking for a row or targeting you specifically. I think we're all pretty disappointed, if not shocked, with what went on today, but that's Charlton for you. None of us are in it for the glory after all!

    Same old shyte.

Very hard to predict how Charlton are going to play, but very easy to predict how some people in cyber world are going to react.

Today was as shyte as shyte can be. Complete horror show.

But in the real world that's what following a non-top six side is all about.

Every club has relative spells like this in their cycles, and in the bigger picture (ie. more than just the last game or two), our current 'depths' happen to be fifth in the Championship. Believe me, it can get a lot worse, as real fans of proper clubs around the country will tell you.

If you can't stomach low blows like today, then you really are putting your emotions behind the wrong club. And as much as people saying a few student geeks on Soccer AM does nothing for our credibility, equally nor do people that scream blue murder every time we lose, or want the manager sacked, coach sacked, chairman resigned, directors resigned on a monthly basis.
  • I think you should go AFKA, look at the facts. The decline of CAFC bares an undeniable correlation to the birth of this website.
But seriously, if people think things are bad - think about this, I believe in cycles in football too and I have two words to say:-

    Nottingham Forrest.

  • I havent particularly taken to Pardew or this squad.

But we do seem to get these excessive swings of enthusiasm when we win (Sheff Utd) and desperation when we lose (Preston).

We are 5th in the Championship and in relation to the 2 other relegated clubs are below Watford (who have had some stability in their management) and above Sheff Utd (who havent).

Stoke and Bristol drew and Plymouth lost today. Preston have of course recently beaten Stoke and Burnley. To be honest this whole bloody league is inconsistent.

I really think Pardew must be given more time which includes the whole of next season if we are not promoted this year.

    - who IMO

I don't think your opinion counts for much on here fella.
  • [cite]Posted By: Charlie Block[/cite]
[cite]Posted By: pete_tong1[/cite]Pards did not sell Reid step forward Murray.

Yes Muppet Murray - who IMO is currently doing his best to kill the club.

Oh Jesus, here we go again! You really are an idiot mate - a 24 carat knob. You just can't bloody help yourself can you.
  • [cite]Posted By: Charlie Block[/cite]

So who exactly is to blame for the mess the club seems to be in?

    Prats like you.
  • [cite]Posted By: Charlie Block[/cite]
[cite]Posted By: Reamsofverse[/cite]What has Alan Pardew brought to the table for this football club, my personal answer would be very little in any department.

In the past 20 months or so - what has the board brought to the table for this club. IMO just as little - in fact they has taken much away. Like hiring two incompetent managers, selling the creative midfielder the team needed to get promotion in order to make a quick buck and spinning the yarn about it being good business.

Total drivel spouted by a sad, bitter and twisted individual. Go away you boring little man.

it is morning - and it is still just as bad.

I should imagine it's always "bad" in the world you inhabit. I can just imagine you now on your coach home, jut DYING to get in so you can come on here and peddle your own personal agenda - whatever that is.

Your are clearly a very sad, sad man.
  • stop stressing we will still make the playoffs cos the rest of the league is shit, anyone can go up,but whoever goes up wont last long
  • Reams, you really are a class A moron. Piss of to palace, we really don't need clowns like you at the valley.
  • your are fcuking naive man......Pards was granted a huge bonus to take us back up.....he will be off as soon as our chances of promo are...gone...I get the feeling there are a young posters on this forum who haven't lived thru the 70's and 80's being a charlton fan....spoilt by 7 years of EPL..welll welcome to being a real fan.....

[cite]Posted By: Off_it[/cite]I should imagine it's always "bad" in the world you inhabit.

It generally is bad when Charlton fail to turn up when they are supposed to be beating teams who are near the bottom of the table.

Stoke did lose to this team recently when they were top of the table.
