Jeez that property developer has opened a can of worms for himself, it seems.
If the launderette building was leaning against the original building now being demolished, that developer has got a financial nightmare coming his way.
You don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand that infill and lean-to buildings lean against the building
that was there first!
And the architectural style generally is a dead give away, if you need to know which is the oldest building and can't be arsed to find out through official records.
the small cafe (not the valley cafe) has now gone as well as the building on the corner. the launderette is still there....work has resumed a bit it seems - well, there is a massive lorry parked on the corner of the road causing havoc for traffic entering and leaving floyd road, although this could be due to the road closure opposite (the road with the valley cafe in it)
i heard they were making the cafe bigger by re-opening with the launderette as a cafe as well. wonder if they've had to resubmit planning!
[cite]Posted By: InspectorSands[/cite]Yeah, I noticed they were working there this afternoon. Hope the laundrette survives all this, for the sake of my service washes!
Notice the laundrette has been demolished as well!
Somebody said they're going to put some flats up there - rubbish I said no doubt we can look forward to a new tree-lined piazza to welcome visitors to Charlton.
[cite]Posted By: miserableold-ish git[/cite]I seem to remember seeing the old "Floyd Road SE7" sign somewhere recently.
I think i'll ask Rock Specticle about it..............

At Darren's party before he passed away (maybe) it was won in a raffle by one of the Dutch addicks.
