Thats it, I'm done!

edited January 2008 in General Charlton
After yet another comedy performance I am not wasting any more of my time, Bougerra is frankly embarrasing, that goes for most of the team, however I will be back IF Pards buys a couple of defenders and midfielders and a striker, if he does not then I along with many more will give it a rest, I dont need to watch shit like that any more. I have aready decided not to renew next season so after over 30 years of regularly watching Charlton I will save my time and money.

Happy New Year!

When the going gets tough, bibble gets going... (home)
  • I hate to moan, but given the choice I decided to stay at home in the bosom of my family today.

Pards has built a one dimensional team around the talent of Reid (someone with a history of injury problems), take him away and you little else

A team who thinks it has a god given right to promotion,
    players out of position,
    Poor tactics,
    Lack of ideas,
    underperforming and unmotivated players
    some puzzling signings

And to top it off players who did nothing for us seem to play with gusto for everyone else,

Everything we've been complaining about for the last 3 years or so under previous managers. The only thing that has really changed is the personnel who on paper are worth a good deal less.

    Sort it out please...
  • "He's Charlton till we lose, He' Charlton till we lose,
I know he is, I'm sure he is,
    He' Charlton till we lose"

You know what. Today was poor. Its been pretty poor most home games this season. But if you're giving up now. After 30 years? Im not even 30 years old and I remember it being a lot worse than this. A lot worse.

Its the hope that'll kill you because then you get much more disapointed. But any proper fan will have a whinge, brush themselves down and say "see you at the next game"
  • Although if Bibble has been following Charlton for 30 years, not only does he deserve a medal but he's got to be regarded as a 'proper' supporter.

He would have seen some dire football in his time - but guess what, many times it also got better.
    Onwards and upwards, folks.

Bad day today. Let's see what Pards wants to do about it and what trading & resources are available.
    He must have some idea....?
  • go alan go!

  • How was Bougherra embarrassing exactly? He was one of our best players & was brilliant down the right hand side. Thought Semedo should have come off, he was useless.
  • i thought sam played well, never stops trying that kid,our best player by far.
  • [cite]Posted By: cafcpolo[/cite]How was Bougherra embarrassing exactly? He was one of our best players & was brilliant down the right hand side

i love the way that in the face of adversity, we as a fanbase can still manage a sense of humour
  • All of the people on here who went to the game today have all seen it differently......(!)

Someone says Boogie was embarrasing another says he was brilliant.
Sam was rubbish, somebody else says he put in 4 great crosses.

ZZ is sh*t, another says he worked hard, covered and was well involved.
I suppose a couple of misplaced passes under pressure in a 90 minute game makes him cack?

All players do that - and in every game.

Whatever the technical ability of players, they are all required to fit the team system.
Maybe that is what's not working?

    Onwards and upwards, folks.

luvvin your work oggy, in the face of adversity you're bouncing back!!
  • Boogie done alright down the right, lets not forget he gave the ball away for the penalty. When he moved into the centre of defence he was shocking, didn't think much of Fortune either way too casual , there 2 centre ghalves scrapped and fought for every ball, didn't give Big Chris a chance, I though Lisbie and his trike partner caused us all sorts of problems.

We seem to have a look about us that we think we don't need to be concerned witht the other teams. It 's like Pardew says lets not worry about them, they need to worry about us. Teams are figuring us out and we don't seems to have a clue about what these sides are bringing to us. We have been beaten by teams out of form and at the bottom. For 10 minutes at the end of the first half we put the ball down the flanks and looked dangerous.
  • With Bibble on this.
I'm not going into how long I've supported Charlton, been a season ticket holder or the how long I've been a Valley Gold member. Or the fact I buy my son a season ticket year on year.
The fact is I feel conned.
Lack of effort, poor tactics and no cheese and onion pasties in the west stand upper.
I'm giving next week a miss but will be back for the remaining games, after all I've already paid for them.
Losing is never easy but its the manner in which you lose that counts.
Next year I could be saving a fair bit of my hard earned money.
  • Cheers, OoAah.

If it was down to optimism, I'd have us already promoted!

we'd have never gone down in the first place!
  • What the f**K did pardew say at half time!!!We managed to get one goal back and looked fired up.Come the second hal f we looked as as if we couldn't give a shit!!

451 at home to the worst team in the division(at the time),NO NO NO!!!!!

    Fucking awful

Thomas good first half, poor second half

Bougherra "tragic" rather than magic and on todays effort no better than a sunday league player.

    Fuck me i'm pissed off

  • If only we were in the position of being 7 points behind the leaders everything would be so much rosier....oh hold on.
  • sorry wss its not that we are 7 points behind it's the number of teams in between who ARE prepared to fight.
  • Like many i can appreciate today (and most home games to be fair) have been absolutely dire this season but the fact of the matter is we have a lot of injuries (i know we can only use that excuse for so long), havent been playing well yet still find ourselves in a decent position to push for promotion.

Look at Watford who were the best team ever to grace the Championship at the start of the season, they have won 3 in 13 or something like that, people takes points of each other every week. People need to understand this league and the fact we are not going to walk every game. Maybe we are not showing enough fight, fair enough, but while we are still in with a bloody excellent chance of promotion maybe, instead of getting on Pardew's, the players and each others backs, we should support the team - especially at home where the players seem to be shit scared to do anything because they'll be booed at the earliest opportunity.

Thats it, i'm not saying another word on this matter.
  • 1st Saturday i've ever worked after a year and a half of working, and look's like a made a good choice.

    Roll on Blackpool......
  • The players deserve to get booed for every f'ing second as far as i'm concerned. We pay their wages and the least they could do is roll their sleevesd up and get stuck in. I don't mind seeing the lads lose games when they have given it everything but they think they deserve to win games just by stepping onto the pitch.
Pardew needs to sort out this complacency in the squad because soon I fear its gonna turn round and bite him in the balls!
  • I think it's taken a bite already....went in at half time looking like we were ready to rip up trees..and then came out and played like it didn't matter.Injurys and bans aside..a truly abject performance. What was said at half time to produce that second half shite?
  • SHAME ON YOU !

To all "supporters" that are deserting us in our hour of need. Great support when we hit rock bottom performance wise.
  • [cite]Posted By: cafcpolo[/cite]How was Bougherra embarrassing exactly? He was one of our best players & was brilliant down the right hand side. Thought Semedo should have come off, he was useless.

YOU have got to be kidding
[cite]Posted By: Oggy Red[/cite]Although if Bibble has been following Charlton for 30 years, not only does he deserve a medal but he's got to be regarded as a 'proper' supporter

sorry oggy but YOU are only a proper supporter if you cancel Xmas and follow your team where ever they may be
  • Sorry too, Ledge.

People have families, commitments & financial constraints.
Your family maybe wouldn't mind if you cancelled Xmas, but most don't want the distress of family disharmony.

Most active supporters get to the matches they can.
That doesn't make them any less of a supporter - and for example, you can see that Charlton runs through their blood by the passion, good or bad, that is shown by their comments on this board.
  • oggy my old mucker i was being sarky mate. a certain other poster on this board reckoned you were not a proper supporter if you did not go to norwich on boxing day to stay at home with family like myself and many others
