  • Well I must know Ketman and North Stand Steve by sight in that case as there werent that many of us who stood on the Sainsbury's terrace and were season ticket holders....

I stood in the Arhtur Waite at the Norwich game as far as I can remember...didnt we get about 4-5,000 for that one....yeah a semi final and that few of us...shocking eh
  • about 5000 tel, remember the game after Norwich was Leicester away, everybody givin it Wemberlee wemberlee we're the famous charlton f.c. and we're goin to wemberlee, then gettin bricked by the baby squad as we went under a bridge.
  • I remember being stuck in that corner at Leicester....we didnt take that many up there from memory....it got a bit tasty when we left the ground, but being all growed up by then, I managed to avoid it ;-) I seem to remember a couple of ours getting ejected from the Leicester side.
  • I wasn't at either. I had a ST in the Sainsbury's end for one season. Never found a permenant spot at that dump. I hated it there.
  • Any more for the 817 club?
  • Nope, Norwich and Blackburn games only.

No. I think I convinced myself that they weren't "First Class Fixtures" so didn't go to either game, even though I'd been a hard-core home/away supporter for a few seasons. The penalty shoot-out win at Everton in the next round woke me up a bit and I went to the Norwich game (superb match....) and the Final (not a superb match...).
  • One of my CAFC claims to fame is that I went to every round of this cup run.

Remember it absolutely pissing down for this one and the stewards taking pity on the 5-6 Bradford fans who travelled and moving them to the little bit of empty terrace in the Homesdale corner of the Arthur Waite.
  • I was at both the 800 games Off_IT would would know I'm telling the truth (if he still posted on here?)
  • I was a ball boy for both the 800 attendance games......

My brother and I were also ball boys at that match.

  • I was there and against Birmingham. I also went to Everton for the quarter final.

    Respect where it is due
  • Was at both this and the Birmingham game.

It was during a run of nearly 300 consecutive home and away games I went to around that time.

    These days I'm just a 'plastic' :)

also did the Everton away game and Norwich at home

  • Went to the Bradford game and final.

So am I loyal or plastic?!
  • Was there also some other matches in this competition also with small crowds in another season? I seem to remember us playing Leicester at home in fog with a 2-1 win? And did we play Hull one year and it went to extra time, same cup, cannot remember who won?

Leciester was 89/90 and hull was 87/88 we won on pens. Both in the same cup
  • I was at this game too, so only half-a-dozen or so to come forward. Didn't miss a match between 1980 and 1985 and only a handful until the 90's.
  • Was at both 800 games and the Norwich match. Not at Everton away though.

I was at that one, didn't Kevin Campbell play as a youngster on loan from the Arse?
  • I went to every round that year - it was very cold for the Bradford game. Billy Beggs scored vs B'rum. Everton quarter final was one of the best games I ever saw. Top, top game with both sides hitting the woodwork. Neil Pointon should have won the penalty shoot out, but shot wide. Final was sooooo disappointing...
  • Was at Bradford but not Brum.

Went to the Hull game too!
