Walsall is an ambitious club with a neat little ground, they narrowly missed promotion last season and are doing well (so far) this one
I doubt if Chris is particularly status minded and probably sees Walsall as a good place to develop players in a nice, not too stressful environment.
Walsall is owned by the Trivela Group, an American company set up to develop player talent and to acquire and develop football clubs.
Possibly they have employed Chris as an experienced figurehead for these ambitions ?
(As said, Daniel Kanu will surely benefit from Chris's excellent coaching)1 -
