  • Nope not a scooby!
  • my Dad has seen him play a few times for the U18's and likenes him to Defoe. Reckons he is a real, real prospect.
  • flipping 'eck don't let harry know
  • Fella I know who is connected with the club reckons he is one of the brightest lads coming through. If I could pronounce his name I would be telling all and sundry too!!
  • I've seen him a few times and I can see why there are similarities between him and Defoe. He's very quick, quite strong for such a young lad and full of commitment.

Most importantly he can score goals. At the pre-season match at Stonebridge road he was far and away our best player and worked tirelessly up front, caused all sorts of problems for their defence and scored a cracking chipped goal and with a bit of luck on the night could have had a hatrick.
  • quel âge?
  • by the sounds of it he sounds like the real deal.

Start putting him in a few squads I say. Are we sometimes too bloody cautious with our youngsters
  • dickson scored for the gills again in midweek
  • Don't get carried away, their is a big, big difference in the level they are playing at the moment to league level. And that counts down to League 2, having said that it won't do any harm putting them in the squad on the bench, just travelling etc etc.

Too much too soon can be a very bad thing though seeing the way are fans are with anyone who has a half shady game. That would proabably destroy him!

  • I've seen him a few times and although skilful and nippy looks a bit lightweight. Not as much potential as Jamie Martin or Onome Sodje at the same age.

Something funny happened with Onome Sodje. The lad bangs them in regularly in the conference and is still a teenager. Why did we let him go?
  • the great thing is this is essentially the olympic squad trials , going to the olympics would be fantastic experience for the lad
  • dont put them in the squad too early look what happened to that young lad rooney at everton
  • cant be any harm in playing him pre season as well as some of the other kids
  • Still doing well, hope he can be effective for the first team over the next 18 months

  • You wont see him in the 1st team any time soon. Expect him to be packed off to one our overseas feeder clubs. Maybe 2-3 years time you might see him back
  • Why will he go to one of our overseas feeder clubs? Surely when the time is right he would get league experience at a div 2 club like Asward Thomas, Josh Wright and Grant Bassey did.
  • I actually heard he may be going to Denmark team or something, we shall see.....

  • Never mind all that - what's the story with his name change?
  • believe he may have to go and play in Belgium/Denmark for a season or two, work permit issue.

    what name change ??
  • Wasn't he the fella who changed his name then changed it back again, or something like that?

Could be worng though - have been on the piss since 2pm AND at a Maiden gig sot he old grey matter is struggling a bit.

not that I remember but you may be right

He changed his name to Chima Orelaja, then changed it back to Danny Uchechi. According to one of the match programmes last season, it was something to do with where he was living.

I heard people mention him having work permit problems a few months ago, so I wouldn't be surprised if thats true about him playing in Denmark or Belgium.
  • Danny has left the club. Been given better offer elsewhere.....from the horses mouth
  • Not what I heard or what Alan Pardew said at the Training Session.

Maybe spending a couple of years in Spain getting a EU work permit I heard.

But you may well be right. We shall see.

from the horses mouth Henry.....permit maybe an issue but got better offer elsewhere
  • how feck can that happen why spend thetime developing him as a youth player if he needed a work permit, there's no guarantee you are going to get one, seems a bit of a waste of money, are we not entitled to compensation a la Bostock if he goes elsewhere.
  • if it's true it's a real shame. He looked like a real talent
