Diawara was clearly well off the pace early on at Charlton but by the end of his time with us he proved that he was good enough to play in the Premiership. In his last 12 games for the Club we let in just 9 goals and picked up 16 points in the process.
The only defeats in that run came against Man United, Chelsea, Everton and Tottenham who were, at the time, 4 of the top 6 Clubs in the League. That run also included 5 successive clean sheets.
So he must have had something about him and probably just took time to acclamatise. Anyone remember seeing Vidic in his first couple of games for United? Looked like a rabbit in headlights but has become an integral part of one of the most successful teams in the history of European football.

But we lost 4-1 at OPERATION EWOOD - did he not play in that game?
[cite]Posted By: BigRedEvil[/cite]Diawara won the french title with Bordeaux at the weekend. I think Bordeaux should give us some money
Money, plus all their best players. We should've put that in the terms of the deal.

No, he did not play at Ewood Park, we had Elk and Hermann at the back that day and they got absolutely dismantled by Jason Roberts.

Don't worry they do. Was a clause for a further payment if they qualified for CL during the period of his initial contract.
