Sounds like there were a few more clowns out there in red shirts too.

Sorry your big moment was spoilt by what came after - did the presentation go OK?

he was a bit card happy but when will these 'clowns' in red shirts learn to shut their gobby mouths so as not to receive meaningless bookings
  • Options
10 booked. That will be a fine for a game that was'nt that dirty.
  • Options
    fine, seemed weird being pitchside.

At one stage the whole ground were singing 'stand up if you hate Styles', including the away end. Did everything he could to be the main man and run ruin the show.

We pay to see the players, not you you clown.

I could quite happily see him dead

I wonder what the Refs Assesser would have made of his performance.

the worrying thing is he probably did everything by the letter and earned himself a gold star.

He asked for a police escort from the Valley after the game
  • Options
Apparently he asked for a police escort out of the ground and was refused.
  • Options
he didn't lose us the game.

For all the stupid cards he handed out, he did actually miss a proper infringement. The first Argyle player that went down for a while and needed treatment, re-entered the pitch when the ball was dead and without the ref's say-so!

he didn't deserve a Ford Escort.....

Been to raves with less whistles. Think he's given me tinitus.......

Would have fcuking needed one if I got near him...thing was we're our own worst enemies at times but he didn't help the situation one bit.

anyway what about the clown in red/orange boots.

i thought they were ferrari red ...ffs you've got to be decent if you wear boots like that and he's pony

It's the inconsistency that's maddening - Championship refs can be lenient, but at least you know where you are with them most of the time. This clown ruined the first half, which seemed to go on forever with all the stoppages.

Styles was poor, but we weren't much better.

It will be easy for all the blame to be pointed in his direction, but he made some strange decisions against both sides.

Plymouth took their chances, we didn't - even with three forwards on the pitch.

Styles was poor, and we will probably complain about other refs we get as the season goes on.
We are still 6th and need to beat qpr on saturday to give everyone a lift, but tonight we were poor and need to do much better if we're gonna stay with the pack.

We got what we deserved out of that which was nothing, the fact that Styles produced the worse ref display i have ever seen at any level anywhere just added to everybodys frustration

spot on 1965. Styles performance was about the worst ever witnessed - it seemed to me that he decided half-way through the game that he might as well cock everyone up and begam dishing out cards like it was xmas.

that being so we were rubbish and if we continue like that we will be lucky to finish in the top half of this league. Pardew has to take some of the blame - we went into this season with 3 rookie strikers (Mcleod, Varny & iwelumo) and none seem to have to nous to finish a promising move.

I'm framing this, and yes, I've selectively quoted

He didn't post that after the games they scored in though.

    Why are we surprised?http://www.charltonlife.com/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=11642&page=1#Item_5 null
It's not as if we didn't expect it.

Styles didn't cost us the game.

We did that all by ourselves with players / management lacking the professionalism to wear boots with the correct stud for the conditions possibly because they don't have the right "look". Iwelumo missed a golden chance because he fell over although he is allowed a mistake given his form thus far. As for Mc Leod is his middle name Torvill? They weren't the only two either.

My gripe with Styles is that I don't understand how the challenge that put Toddy on a stretcher went completely unpunished whereas far more innocuous challenges were punished.

Maybe one of the refs on here can explain?

good point it wound me up the amount of times someone fell over, ffs it's october and there's been heavy night time dew for a few nights now, so the surface was gonna get greasey it's not fcuking rocket science

Problem at the moment is the grass might be wet, but the pitch is rock hard and not taking a stud
  • Options
Even Holloway said after the game that the player who took out toddy should have been booked. The time in the game that styles should have pulled a card out he chooses not to.

I accept that Rothers but how many Plymouth players slipped?

I can remember one in the second half and that's it so either they are naturally better balanced or made the right choice of footwear.
