Anybody else go to that game where Matty Holmes had his leg broken by that disgraceful tackle by Kevin Muscat? It was an evening game & I remember Mark Bright was sent off in the 2nd half for a perfectly harmless challenge on the Wolves keeper. I have hated Graham Poll ever since!!

...........
I didn't go, but am I right in thinking Muscat never even got booked let alone sent off?
My only trip to Molyneux was late 80s against a strongish Wolves team. Bolder pulled off a series of top class saves without which the score would have been considerably worse than the 2-1 defeat (I think??) we suffered.
My one and only visit was that game when Matty Holmes got his broken leg.
Bradley Allen played that night (and I use the term played very loosely). He was and absolute pile of shit. I left with 20mins left as we were already 4-0 down and playing the worst I have ever seen a Charlton team play.
might have been late 80s or early 90s, one of the first away games of the season we got a 1.1draw with rob lee scoring for us steve bull getting the goal for them, not a nice place to go
fa cup game when matty holmes got crooked, was on my own think was 97'ish and was a school night!! went up on coach from charlton usual faces as per,got talking to a proper northern bloke who was charlton thru and thru had his kids with him so probably took pity on me. also got talking to guy from the west country who went to all the away games. fun night despite losing matt to a disgusting takle from...... muscatt.
I was in the Wolves end the night Matty Holmes got crocked. Despite the obvious pain he was in, he made the effort to clap the Chalrton fans whilst lying on his stretcher. What a hero.
My two strongest memories of Molineux are the 3 0 cup defeat when a couple of Wolves fans piled onto our coach and salsa pushing her burger custard pie style straight in the face of some black country red neck. It was the little twist at the end that made us all burst out laughing as he dragged himself off the coach with ketchup running off his chin.
The other was their first season in The Premiership after 17? years outside the top flight. After such a long wait, their first home game wasn't their wished for Villa, or Man U, or Arsenal, or Liverpool..... but little old us.
Played them off the Park with a 4-0 win (and Parker got an early bath) - still my biggest away win I've been to. The Charlton fans singing 'Was it really worth the wait'.
I got to shout some abuse at Robert Plant that day as well ;-)
Remember going up there on a Sunday and the ground being half built. Garry Nelson got sent off for dissent and Bob Bolder coined the phrase "win or loose on the booze" when he was awarded his MOTM trophy afterwards.
Also recall a Friday night 3-0 defeat. Probably around 1995ish?.
3-1 victory in 1998 promotion season - got spat on from above that day.
Was there the championship season, think we won 3-2 - Newton scored, think Chappell scored at both ends.
Seem to recall going up there with Oakster on a Weds night - if there was trouble I was too pissed to remember.
Brown's penalty - just come out from the concourse to see us attacking and the ref awarding us a pen (about 2 mins in) - hadn't even got to my seat when Brownie missed it. Lost that game if i remember right.
the 4-0 drubbing - as said on here before, a great day.
matty holmes cup game - shocking tackle.
I have to admit I've never seen or been involved in any bother, but then again, if you know me, I am a quiet, unassuming kinda guy !
Ive been to Molineux a few times including the 4 - 0 win. I seem to remember we had a good away crowd, Yep it was good to totally burst their prem bubble.Yep not many people like wolverhampton even the locals. Walsall is my fave west mids ground and enjoyed our 4 -2 win their last time .

I remember going up with NLA for a televised game in the mid 90s when we got beat 1-0 i think with one of the lowest away turn outs i can remember cant of been mor than 100 of us think we all fitted in one row of the away end lol.
