What do you know about Norwich?

  • Re: William of Norwich and slaughter of Jews.

It definitely was Norwich (the York incident was only similar in the sense that the Jewish victims hid in a tower that was set alight by local townspeople). I think it was a trumped up charge, with half an idea to get rid of debts and appropriate wealth. Later a monk saw some visions, miracles occured and eventually William of Norwich became a saint.

By the way how do you repeat the text and make it go yellow. Do you have to reprint it all or cut and paste or what?

  • I'm banned from the Norfolk broads for life.
  • Was reading this thread with interest and then read one of my own comments - from over two years ago.

    Weird.

(And no, I can't remember what the answer was to my "second biggest church in Norfolk" question - but I was probably wrong anyway.)

  • More Norwich City fans have been the subject of Would Yas than any oher club. Probably.
  • I'm told that Elm Hill has more atmosphere than any other Norwich thoroughfare 'an unexpected feature is a brass-rubbing centre'. Better get there a bit early chaps, bound to be a queue!
