  • maybe it is about time we all move on from this jordan thing now and rise above it!i know he slags us off but i think deep down he loves that we all react to his comments!the idiot is a jerk and we are all better than that.
Face it the guy is jealous of us and has nothing better to do
We are number 1 in south london
  • Oh I remember that.
  • Have 2 young kids who will soon in the next season or so start coming to games with me. Firstly I suppose I'd have thought seriously about bringing them to a game like Palace. The swearing wouldn't worry me as much as the chants like "jordan takes it....". Swearing can be heard on trains etc and unfortunately commonly is. The sexual chants I feel would be a little harder to gloss over. At the end of the day these kids are the future fans of our club so we want to make sure the atmosphere is decent enough for them also, generally Charlton do that, maybe Palace was always going to be the exception, hence the reason I probably would have left them at home.

The standing also wouldn't bother me with kids, I was down the front on Saturday and if someone had come down and asked if their kids could sit there...no problem, couple of youngsters behind me, stood on their seats and were loving it!
  • FFS, that was probably the first away match (and last) that bloke complaining went to. Never heard anything like it in my life. If there was still standing, I doubt if he'd ever have gone to any football match.

I won't sing the wheels on the bus, the ones that do are thick cnuts imo tho I do agree that *some* don't know the connotations.

Didn't hear "I'd rather be a moron than a cnut" - that's genius! wish it had been sung in voice in the ground!
  • I'm genuinely annoyed that people can complain about saturday...its actually embarrassing to me.

    Here here
  • Ron Noades should have been charged with attempted murder of a football club. The regime might have changed but the club hasnt changed his spots.
They deserved every chant they got. They probably got off light if anything.
  • It makes me sad that this debate is even going on, its a football match for christs sake. Admittedly im probably a fair bit younger than most of you, but do some of these people not remember what it was like to be a kid? I think i knew every swear word (although maybe not what all of them meant) from the playground before i learnt them at the Valley. The standing issue riles me cos i saw plenty of kids with their dads standing on their seats and loving every minute of it on saturday, in fact i was stood next to one and it made me smile remembering when i was a kid doing exactly that. The issue of our elderly supporters is fair enough, but surely we as fans can use some common sense in policing ourselves and allow them to the front? This sort of thing explains why the atmosphere at the Valleys got so flat to me, i said to my mate on Saturday 'if only every away game was like this', i for one wish they were.
  • I agree with RedArmySE7, this whole thing is embarrassing and its no wonder our support is sometime lamentable. As soon as we get rid of the plastics the better.

And you left at half-time during the Sheff Weds game...
  • fcuk Palarse..after what Jordan did with the writ stunt he deserved everything he got Saturday....it sounded like a brilliant day out and I'm jealous I couldn't be there. People are complaining about the language it makes me larf....those are the plastics sanitized by years of prem football. Carry on lads sing your hearts out to the Adams family and wheels on ths bus and enjoy real football again.

  • love kelvin mckenzie comments in todays sun lol
  • What did he say, as I can't find it on line?
  • got a link?
  • I thought the definition of a plastic was someone who only ever watched football on the tv and had never seen "their club" in the flesh, or just went to The Valley to see Prem football, not sure how you can accuse people of being plastic if they go to every home game and try and get to away games as well. Everyone has different levels of comittment to Charlton doesn't make them any less of a supporter. Not saying I agree with the complaints, think you have to weigh up what is appropriate and suitable for yourself or your family and use some common sense.
  • Kelvin Mckenzie quote
" you spend £30 million on rescuing the football club you have supported all your life and on a glorious saturday afternoon your name is being chanted by thousands of fans. Unfortunately, after a few minutes it becomes clear that the fans are not yours but your "rivals" and yes they are singing your name but not in a manner one that reflects your standing in the community.
Simon Jordan's a w*****r go the lyrics from the Charlton fans, and they keep up the refrain for 90 minutes. I don't know if Mr Jordan the self publicising chairman of Crystal Palace is a w*****r infact i take the view that the jury is still out but it didn't stop me joining in"
