Ended up in the West Upper because there were 0 seats left in my block in the North Lower the other day so couldn’t get the additional ticket anywhere near my ST seat. Now there’s loads lol so a fair few ST holders (me included in the end) didn’t take their seat0
-
Loads of tickets left, anyone who wants one should be fine getting one.0
-
Roughly 5k left to sell2
-
Are the policing arrangements get confirmed given this fixture is now close ? In other words will it mirror the much debated Millwall arrangements?2

Content from this morning’s email update that seems to have gone under the radar.
At least a 21k crowd guaranteed already. Never saw that one coming. We probably never achieved that many in the PL days. When was the last time we had a bigger FA cup gate at home ?0 -
1984....22,000 v Watford is one that springs to mind. Only 42 years ago.....letthegoodtimesroll said:

At last a chance to forget the league and focus on the cup. This game coming at just the right time2

Unless I'm reading the ticket page incorrectly, it looks like the game will soon sell out.
Most blocks seem to have isolated seats available and a few blocks do have smallish groups of seats available. Upper West seems to have about 140 left in Block WSR.2 -

unlike some of the league games so far this season no home blocks have completely sold out so far. Spread out lads, make ‘em think there are more of us…Simonsen said:Unless I'm reading the ticket page incorrectly, it looks like the game will soon sell out.

Looking at those picture, 22k was probably a true figure, unlike some other 20k+ gates from the 70s and 80s where they looked more like closer to 40k were in the ground.0

Surely that Leicester home tie in the 5th round that we lost in the Prem days was a sellout? Dion Dublin got their winner really late.0

My wedding day and i was told of his winner just as we were setting off for the Trafalgar Tavern for the reception .... fumingMarcusH26 said:Surely that Leicester home tie in the 5th round that we lost in the Prem days was a sellout? Dion Dublin got their winner really late.

If it wasn't for your immense sacrifice that day Mrs Oohahh and Petrolhead wouldn't have followed on, and for that we should all be grateful.1 -
Honestly, it felt like so many more than 22,000.letthegoodtimesroll said:Looking at those picture, 22k was probably a true figure, unlike some other 20k+ gates from the 70s and 80s where they looked more like closer to 40k were in the ground.
There were an immense amount of Watford fans. I've seen the video highlights that the Museum put up and that shows just how many were packed in the funny no-mans land section, adjacent and behind the floodlight between the Away End and the main bit of the East Terrace. That first photo shows the funny little section between the Main Stand and Away end and that's all Watford fans....it was rammed. There could have been as many as 8,000 Watford fans there that day.2 -
yep only a few of my mates were allowed to attend ;-)oohaahmortimer said:

10.42 of the video shows a good view of the East Terrace. One quite large section closed off but the rest is packed. I wonder how many were in the Charlton part of the terrace alone...?
13.05 shows a brief glimpse of the Watford corner section of the East Terrace.0 -
That Watford game was my first ever game2
-
looking at that video that's a very decent crowd and I'd say a fair few more than 23k2
-
Didn't the ground have a capacity of 50 - 60,000 at the time, there is no way you could have fitted twice as many people in there again. There was a much higher figure than claimed.

Chelsea have been given 3065 tickets, I’m sure the Jimmy Seed used to take more like 3400/3500, does this mean the stadium capacity has been reduced ?0

I always thought it held 3.1k and change but lost a few of those seats at some point later on when some work was done on it. The 3.4k figure is often quoted but no team ever seems to get much more than that 3065 with a difference probably explained by some restricted view seats getting sold (I’m guessing)0 -
Just 51 tickets left in Block WSR now.
If there are a group of you without tickets, who want to sit together, get on it now.0 -
Reminder of the deal in the family stand (still blocks of tickets available). £60 for 2 adults, 2 U18, £15 a ticket, which is a pretty good deal for any type of game, let alone PL opposition. Just add the above types of tickets into basket and it auto applies3

Used to be more seats but the scum nicked some last timeletthegoodtimesroll said:Ducktapeshoerepairs said:Chelsea have been given 3065 tickets, I’m sure the Jimmy Seed used to take more like 3400/3500, does this mean the stadium capacity has been reduced ?

The safety limit at the time was restricted to 20,000, and had been since 1981, which gives you an idea how lax the safety regime was. To be fair, I think everyone was astonished by the crowd, which was vastly more than the club or anyone else had anticipated. I would guess there were about 8,000 away fans, but it was an extraordinary home turnout when you consider we only got 14,000 for Chelsea in the league and the home average was 6,732.milo said:Didn't the ground have a capacity of 50 - 60,000 at the time, there is no way you could have fitted twice as many people in there again.
