As Roger would say; Syb-ill.
I love Fawlty Towers; probably the best sitcom ever written. Shame that so many of the characters have passed on. At least Cleese is going strong.3 -
RIP...classic comedy back in the day.1

A talented actress who suffered from dementia for the last ten years (at least) of her life
I really enjoyed the narrow/canal boat series she made with her late husband Timothy West
As with cancer, dementia is a major health problem for many people as they move into old age5 -
Fawlty Towers up there with the best ever sitcoms and her Sybil character was played flawlessly. Very talented actor.I also loved the canal boat journeys Timothy and her did together and it really showed the love and care her husband had for her through very difficult times.RIP Prunella6

Though Sybil defined her, she was a versatile actress for sure. RIP Pru.2

Oh must have missed that, thanks. In that case, I can see how things must have been very difficult for her without him to care for her. RIP to both of them.North Lower Neil said:

Loved the various Great Canal Journey series with Tim and you could see both the love between them and the difficulty of taking care of your partner with dementia. Never expected Tim to go first and can only imagine how devastated that must have been for her. Rest in Peace Pru.3

I met Timothy West and Prunella Scales nine years ago in Venice.
I'd taken my wife there for a 50th birthday present, Tim and Pru were filming an episode of their Canal Journeys series ... we were staying in the same hotel and we saw them at breakfast one day - they came and sat at the table next to us.
They were a lovely couple.6 -
RIP a great character actress. Always had a penchant as a teenage boy watching the Sybil character in FT, a lovely looking woman as well as a talent.0
