Looking fwd to hearing what club had to say about Millwall match and how it will be policed in the future and what about the post match survey?
No surprise that Club have been tight lipped since last night .....but it would be good for someone from CAST or a fan who attended to post an update0 -
Pay the police costs and keep them in next season, it has to be that simple. As for comments now both parties will be blaming the other side, the fans have been treated very badly in all ways.1

The club’s comms were the police’s fault, apparently. Even though Millwall took full responsibility for communicating with their fans.Absolute and total bollocks. Take some bloody responsibility you empty suit.15

Reading the Fans forum minutes...
Why weren't there police in position to deal with trouble at Gate 21.....what a lame excuse, the police started to organise themselves when they were radio'd? and any police may agitate the situation!!??
So where and what were the 297 police on duty doing exactly? Oh I know sat in white vans rather than be ready and IN position to react immediately to trouble from Millwall fans?
Reading the minutes... looks like Police will do same next time we play Millwall as they "don't want to agitate the Millwall fans by keeping them behind" sort of unbelievable but sadly believable........
ME said he’d read stuff on social media about the management of the gate incident that wasn’t true. He said there were two stewards on site and there was radio comms to the control room about the incident. He said the police started to organise themselves to go there but it was resolved before they were needed. He said although it felt to him, and likely some supporters, that the incident was going on for ages, the whole thing was about four minutes long. He said police going in may have agitated the situation that had calmed, which is why the police commander decided not to send them in. EW said that when something happens that hasn’t happened before, the club need to change how they do things, namely what happened with Gate 21 and with pre and post-match communication around high-risk fixtures. JP said it was similar last time Charlton played0 -
These were the same police who drove their vans through the Charlton fans on Charlton Lane while they were responding to the Gate 21 incident, according to their statement, presumably.6

"EW said the club don’t like it and wish it was different, but the police are in charge of the policing of
Millwall and we’re not. He said if we play Millwall at home again it is quite likely they’ll want to do the
same thing and when we play Millwall at The Den it may be possible that they have a different
arrangement for away supporters which may mean Charlton fans are held back."
So there we have it. The police will do it again, and the Club feel powerless to change their minds.
I think the Club is powerless. So what are WE going to to about it? If we do nothing, then there is simply no point in complaining when we are put through this again.
There's the choice. Roll over, and shut up; or get organised and tell the police it is unacceptable to treat law-abiding citizens, who fund their salaries, in this way, when there is an obvious rational alternative.

While I see your point @PragueAddick it’s not like the old bill are well known for listening to those they are supposedly there to protect. Obviously we can (and probably should) still kick up a fuss but I think our chances of changing anything are slim to none1
-
Yet again the club trots out that because of the total attendance, the game was somehow higher risk than previous games against Millwall - yet it is Millwall who are the risk and they have had the same number of fans every time we have played them at The Valley over the last 30 years. It’s a load of crap.15

Unbelievable reading.
He said what transpired at the match was at the better end of scenarios given the full away stand of Millwall supporters.
Have the club not seen the photos of the Charlton fan getting attacked on the stairs after the game? Is that really at the better end of scenarios?

Absolute horseshit, but who's really surprised?
For starters, the Millwall debacle is tucked away down on the agenda between PSA testing and hot water, ffs. Unbelievable.
And did nobody ask about the comms post match? Really???
Still, I bet the sarnies were nice and hopefully these (mainly) minority groups still get their tickets coming in, so all is well.
We wait how many weeks and that's it? Pathetic.

The Millwall fans magically congregated behind the barrier in an instant, forced the gate off its bolts in seconds and would have done both of those things wuicker and more violently if there had been plod in place at the time2

There really is no surprises in this update and I don’t believe anyone really thought there would be.It’s a police decision which remains their judgment call. That is it.Tickles me the scoreboard got a mention to improve the comms in the future as I sarcastically predicted before they might - any chance to try and defend / deflect I suppose ☹️All we can expect is the same time with better notice.0
-
Hopefully @Airman Brown can help here. Can we ask the police to keep the fans inside after the game, please give us the invoice and we'll pay the costs.1

When it was said that the Police were in charge of pre match communication did no one at the forum challenge that and ask how it was the case that Millwall had been able to successfully communicate arrangements to their fans?
And to effectively brush under the carpet events at Gate 21 isn’t good enough. The Police are happy to wade in on numerous occasions but this time by the time they’d done an assessment the incident had fizzled out. Lucky for them it did. Seems to me they were afraid of what they might face instead of assisting innocent members of the public whom they are paid to protect.
We currently have weak management in charge of the Club, that’s for sure.5 -
and no mention of fucktard scum fans still being in home areas , oh it's been like that before so it doesn't matter4

So no mention on subjects discussed the Millwall match and when you now click on the link to the minutes..sorry the page can't be found !!
I read the minutes before they disappeared and minutes appeared to have no one representing the fans making strong statements questioning what club were trotting out..(would like to have re-read but the minutes have vanished )
Where were strong voices saying its totally unacceptable ..
Where were 297 police?
Police's response to Gate 21 and attacking Charlton fans?
& clubs lack of communication before, during and after?
So Club in the agenda above thinks matchday catering is more important to mention than fans being attacked and 20,000 Addicks having to be treated like away fans at The Valley? Really?
Charlton under Nathan have been a real pleasure to watch and it feels like we have our Charlton back on the pitch...... sadly off the pick, the SMT and people running the club & operations from stewarding, ticketing, match day catering, shop etc are poor and thats being kind!1 -
Gobsmacked by The Minutes!.. I read about the Fans forum meeting and police's response to how they "mis" handled the match, would love to re-read....but can't remember fans reps questioning..the BS answers given or getting a committment from the club that they will hold a meeting with the Met Police and ask why they can't police Millwall fans and weren't in position to tackle violence which occurred in the ground and what 297 officers on duty did?
clubs treatment of fans before, during, after and at this meeting isn't good enough, thats being polite.7
