  • Cambridge is so quiet, all I can hear are Addicks..great support as per
  • This is the sort of game that players should be trying to show the manager they deserve a start in the league.

    They have failed miserably
    Was just thinking that.

before the game I hoped Tanto would stake a claim for a start Saturday. Not sure he’s done enough. No one has
  • 75 mins Gillesphey off, Gough on.
  • Gough on for Macca. Anderson must be the player with most appearances for us out there now and Tanto the most "senior" player

Well that was a confidence sapping experience for Knibbs, Kelman and Costello, forcing them to play with the U21s, now it literally is the U21 team playing. I almost admire NJs contempt for this fixture.

Wow - this must be the weakest team put out by any Champ team tonight. In the sense it is now basically the U21s
  • Not sure Nathan is taking this one to seriously

I’m sure some people will see this as an overreaction but I actually think Jones has insulted the fans tonight with the team selection, subs and just lack of ambition shown. Of course the league has to be priority but this early in the season, with nearly 1000 fans there, it’s harsh that they’ve had to watch this’. The whole intensity of our league 11 to this couldn’t be further apart.
Could argue reactions like this is an insult from the fans? - Do we only support the best eleven players in the team, do the rest of the squad and the U21s who get an "opportunity" not matter?
LOL - we support the team regardless. But from the outset , it’s clear to see too many changes have been made. We have played 3 games. I’m not saying play a full 11 but to not even name a couple of first teamers on the bench is bizarre to me. The game was done at 2-0. Had we’d had a bit more ambition, it might not have been and the near on 1000 wouldn’t have been treated to an absolute shit show.

  • Honestly don’t understand why so many people care about a cup we have zero chance of winning, are we so desperate to be pumped 6-0 by Arsenal in the third round? We’re playing the u21’s to see how they shape up against a League One side.

I can’t believe our fans in the ground are mockingly chanting “we’ve got the ball… we’ve lost the ball” etc to a bunch of academy boys trying their best.
You carry on not understanding Elliot, the rest of us will carry on wanting our team to win every game.
  • I make that 10 home grown on the pitch now.
  • Long Cambridge throw near the LH corner flag, flicked on for a goal kick.

    Don’t fancy Mitchell much
Have you been out for a drink and the pics yet mate...plenty of time...😉
  • Don’t fancy Mitchell much
    He's not my type either
  • Jones has basically conceded here. Real insult to those who have paid good money to travel to the game.

Given the relatively strong side we put out against Stevenage you would have expected similar this evening.
  • Is this the youngest Charlton eleven in a competitive match ??

Fun fact; Anderson has played more games for Charlton than Gillesphey, at least according to wiki, there are only two matches difference though
  • Refreshing the page hoping to see 13 comments to pop up knowing we’ve pulled it back to 3-2 🙏🏻
    Still waiting… 🤷‍♂️😂

    How's that working out
  • BBC Cambridge commentators fair to us in the sense they have mentioned numerous occasions (bit like on here) this is a mens first team Vs an academy team and the gulf in quality and understanding is obvious.
  • Mbick shot from distance, but it skims across the floor to the keeper.
  • The oldest player is now Captain Anderson lol 😂
  • We're starting to create half chances now
  • A missed opportunity for a few players who could have used this game to stake their claim to the match day squad !

Commentator calling him Insulin is now grating
Maybe he's diabetic, and desperate for help?
  • Bloody pathetic shot.

    That's us all over.

We played the entire bench in our game against Leicester today. The majority of the starting line-up weren't the under 21s I believe.

If we'd have played all kids it probably would've been better than this.
