Can’t get used to 1.5 hours of build up on Sky for lil old Charlton!

Surprised we've not heard from Nathan Jones yet.

It's so strange - feels like the prem days -

All this positivity is making me nervous - I'm struggling with whether I wear my Charlton top because I wore it against Watford or whether I stay in the old comfort clothes -

I feel the entire result depends on it!

Only complaint about the Sky coverage so far, is the fact they've not highlighted that Tracey Leaburn will be departing the club.

Jones said Mannion had an accident after the Stevenage game and that's why he missed the Bristol match but is back in training. Maybe today comes too soon on his return
It was the most sinister sounding description of a player’s injury I’ve ever heard. It was as like a mob boss making a threat. “ Nice goalkeeper you have there, would be a shame if he were to have a small accident!”
AMB was desperate to get back in the match day squad. You know how ruthless these Aussies can be  ;)

Jones: Leaburn in for Kelman is tactical, but Charlie is getting up to speed.

In the preview thread I went for a 3-1 defeat with Mavididi getting a hat trick for them.

Seeing as he's not going to be involved at all then obviously it's now going to be a 1-0 win to us !

    Where are Berry and Mannion?
On Berry, I’m confident Fullah will show this season he’s the better player. He’s too good for NJ to leave out.

He’s got so much potential, I think he’s taken a bit longer to be involved with the first team because his strengths aren’t his physical attributes compared to players like Gomez and Shelvey, who could compete really well physically in the first team at 16/17.
Berry would score more goals & is more experienced.

Wouldn't surprise me if Berry leaves before Sept 1st.

Hopefully this is a sign that NJ has realised the need for a mix in the strikers, Leaburn and TC should work better together, and when they both come on, Kelman and Olaofe should compliment eachother more than TC and Kelman did.
And probably Olaofe and Kelman Tuesday.

Really nervous about this one compared to Watford / Bristol City

We're facing an team just down from the Premier League, and it really doesnt feel right that we should be regarded as the "favourites"
  • Leicester fans not happy with their line up. Page and Monga seem to be the ones they're most happy to see, and they're both 16.
Page has apparently already rejected a pro contract, so not sure if they're playing him to prove that he will get a first team chance there.

Seeing Monga on the teamsheet makes me feel very old, he was born in July 2009!

    Spoiler alert

Here's the image we'll see, hopefully after each of his three goals today

A Leaburn hatrick on his mums last Charlton game as an employee, I'd just love that!

    Queues outside are enormous.

Ruben in the fans’ zone was pretty good.

Proper emotional when Tracey was introduced.

This does suggest that Burke isn’t ready yet even as a back up option if someone pulls out, maybe an outside chance of the bench v Cambridge

Good to see some maintenance been done in the bogs. Now a sign up saying report any maintenance issues to nearest steward. Shame they couldn't have replaced the lock on trap three at the same time.

Didnt Bellingham follow up that Stoke goal, by scoring at the Valley against us in a 1-0 away win?
