Fucking Ipswich, absolute pony.  Gifted Oxford the first goal, were well on top at the start of the second half, then another poor goal to concede and chasing the game.  Oxford should never have got something out that game, and that’s watching it without my Charlton specs on

I think Coventry could destroy this division at this rate and Soton to finish second.  After that, anyone else in the mix up are very shakey

Its November, cant be worrying about the League table yet.
You can when our 4 strikers have 3 league goals and Campbell is Jones lovechild
Yet we're still closer to the Play-Offs than we are the Relegation zone...
The new “we’re still 5th” and we all know how that season played out ….
We will be nearer the relegation zone than the play offs come the time of reckoning ….
Just gotta hope we can get to safety asap

Oxford are some plucky fucks aren't they? Fair play though mind, we just need to get back on track ourselves.

That result worried me last night. Even at the peak of our run earlier this season we were all saying 21st is a successful season. I would have bit your hand off for 21st when we were 5th and I definitely would do now.

Can anyone name (outside of Sheff Weds) 4 teams we will definitely be well clear of? Or even 3?

It’s gonna go right to the wire which was always going to be the case. This is a tough division

But we've lost 3 on the trot with and playing the League leader later today. Not only are we not picking up points we are now not competing in games, which are over before they have begun. We all know we have a weak attack & scoring more than once is an issue. Going 2-0 down within the first 15-20 mins means the game is effectively over before half time.

December is a big month. We have to play Pompey & Oxford at home and Norwich away. Between the Pompey & Oxford matches we have to play Middlesborough & Birmingham. We simply can not lose to those 3 teams below us. Ideally we need to beat Pompey & Oxford & get at least a point away to Norwich.

We may currently be nearer the play offs than the relegation places, but by Jan 1st that could well be very different.

If anyone thinks that Oxford arent going to close the gap further, or that the gap wont open again between now and May etc., well you need a f**king strong wake up call - Everyone can beat everyone at this level.
You can target teams tho surely. Oxford are 100% relegation fodder and we could potentially be. Our aim is to stay up this season, so teams like that Norwich Pompey are our target challenge. Anything else is a bonus.

it’s practically more than downplaying our ability.
I would suggest Oxford fans would see us as relegation fodder as well. So yes you can be concerned with our position in the table and our collapse of luck.

So very true... Last year there were nine points that separated 12th > 22nd once all was said and done.

Suspect again that half the Division will be in a "relegation battle" - Typically on here, we lose a couple of games on the trot, its the end of the world, and a good few on here will expect us to never win a game of Football ever again.

Rowett will always find a way to keep a team up and punch above it’s weight. We were comfortably the better side against them a few weeks ago at their place but they managed to nick an equaliser with the last kick of the game. They’re a tenacious side who battle to the end.

Apart from Wednesday, I’m struggling to predict who will be battling it out down there come the end of the season. Even Norwich, who look like they’re getting cut adrift a bit, they’ve got some decent players. You wouldn’t put it past them putting a run together, now they’ve changed their management team.

Plenty of football to be played yet. Teams like Oxford will unexpectedly win some games this season and so will we. Why some people are so determined to panic in November is beyond me.

I think your early season form will be enough to stop you from getting dragged in to it, but seriously, who could guess? Bat shit mental league.

We just need to get through this week and move on. Hopefully our confidence won’t have been battered and we can get back on it moving forward

We need 9 more wins from 29 games to get to 50 pts.  I see a defeat against Coventry and Pompey will be tough, even though we know it’s a game we’ll need to win after 4 defeats on the bounce.  As per Millwall Fan’s post above, hopefully our start is the foundation to get the points, but if we lose today and then don’t get the win against Pompey, we’re right in it.

    Down to 16th now.

Sheff Utd starting to pull their socks up, a big game vs Pompey coming up too now.
If that story about them enquiring about merging with Wednesday is true then I suspect they’ve got bigger problems and we probably won’t need to worry about them not occupying a relegation spot after the January transfer window has closed.

I think we've compounded our injury problems by moving other players out of their preferred position - carey and tc for instance. Now we have Roussillon and hopefully Bell, we can get back to basics and i think we'll stabilize - i don't see us slipping into the danger zone - people need to calm down - its been 2 or 3 games really where we've not looked ourselves but we've earnt a blip with the points cushion we've built up - it was always going to happen, to assume we are now hurtling downwards isn't right. Ipswich looked world class in that first half and if they'd scored, a heavy defeat could have followed. Get the 'structure' back in the side and we'll be ok.

    Sheff U now 0-3
  • Leicester should be a touch worried at the moment, given they've got the pending points deduction looming over them, even though I still suspect that they'll drag it out, and get the actual penalty next season.

Leicester look way off a promotion side, and next season their parachute payments will drop significantly.
  • Just turned the Leicester game on.

Why is the crowd so sparse? Did they all walk out in the first half when they went 3 down?

Think we will be closer to play offs than relegation zone at 31st December. Wins over Pompey and Oxford, draw with Boro, lose at Brum, draw at Carrow Road, maybe all three, then Coventry at The Valley looking for revenge. Bring it on.

Coventry may well obtain their 'revenge' over the next hour and a quarter

Ipswich grab a last gasp equaliser that keeps us 17th....

This leagues mental, we are only 5 points off of Ipswich in 7th.
