So excited, just need to be the best version of ourselves.
I’ll try but it really depends on what sort of night I have

At last we are back in the Championship and a good start would be just what we need. Who knows what Watford will be like, they could destroy us or vice versa. Should be a nice sunny day, perfect for a first match. Honours even, 1-1.

2-0 Charlton. Off to a flyer and Watford will struggle this season to many people's surprise

Worth remembering that today is probably the happiest you'll feel about this season all year.
I was happy until you posted this.

My head says it'll be 1-1. My father in law is a massive Watford fan, so I'm hoping we can get the win tomorrow.

Does anyone know when they stop selling tickets online? I want to go but I’m on call with work so ideally don’t want to book until tomorrow morning once I know if I can actually make it
Tickets can be purchased online 24 hours a day, seven days a week, while the Ticket Office can be contacted on 03330 14 44 44.

    In Nathan Jones speak.

Is that true? Last season you would see match tickets greyed out at 12pm, with a note saying no longer on sale.

Is that new for this year? Because for the last few years they have took them off online sale a few hours before kick off

I still struggle to get my ahead around the fact that there were no subs allowed whatsoever prior to Keith Peacock coming on but now you can have nine times that on the bench and make five times the number of changes.
Yes agree.  A clever manager can completely change the game by making the right changes at the right time - and planning that in advance.  Makes it a totally different game in many ways.
Before substitutes many first choice players played carrying injuries or niggles because they  didn't want a reserve coming in and displacing them.
Many cup finals were ruined when someone was injured and spent most of the game hobbling about on the wing. trying to be a nuisance.

I've no idea how tomorrow's game will pan out.
    Here's hoping for the best.

3-0 Campbell, Jones and Leaburn off the bench.

I think we need a chant of Leaburn, Leaburn, Tracey Leaburn during the match.

Alot of low scoring draws this season. This may be one of them. Really any result possible. Only result I fear is getting thumped, as it will imply the defence (which was so good last season) is not up to championship standard.
  • 4-0, Kelman with 2 of them.

Irrespective of the result, everything that the club is doing makes it feel great to be a Charlton fan once again, and we have all earned the right to enjoy ourselves this season

In later years, but still before the Peacock revolution, it became fashionable to play such gimps at CF rather than the wing. Less far to run, I guess.

I’ll be absolutely fuming if we’re not aggressive and front-footed.

As long as we are the best versions of ourselves, are at it, and go about things in terms of things we’ll win 2-1

My wife and I are just back to Wisconsin after a week long vacation in Colorado. Was a wonderful trip but have been looking forward to the opening game so much that I don’t mind that my vacation is over

No day of rest for me, up at 6am sharp. Think we’ll do the business tomorrow, will be a roller coaster for the next 9 months and couldn’t be more excited!

    Enjoy the day everyone!

Only 8am here, already buzzing for the game and seeing our beautiful ground on CharltonTV again. Roll on 18:30 for kick off (selfishly early kick offs are better for me).
