  • First half clean sheet win 🎸🎶🎶
  • Interesting that Docherty is almost playing the Coventry role today, picking up the ball very deep and spraying long balls more than he usually does.

Might be toying with the idea that Coventry won't have a direct backup and the other midfielders will have to cover if necessary
  • HT 0-1, tough first half, some dodgy tackles from Cambridge, but just what you'd expect from a Harris team, ref just needs to stay on top, hopefully no injuries today...

This is my thinking. Doc has played the holding role in the past. I think he is Coventry's back up atm.
  • Does look like we’re more 3-4-2-1 out of possession, with TC and Mbick (now Miles) tucking in centrally and sitting deeper - could be a good tactic in the Championship against teams playing out to deep lying midfielders.

In possession TC has freedom to drift wide, while it’s less clear on the right as Mbick/Miles are naturally strikers, and Apter is there to offer width.

Edwards very much like last season - he can get forward but with Apter a very attacking on the right, he has to do it at the right times to avoid us committing too many players forward.
  • Agree. Like the look of Apter, JRC and Bell
  • Tc looked absolutely lost out there

Leaburn celebrates by lifting his shirt to reveal a t shirt emblazoned with ‘Good Luck Kayne’
Are there rumors that Kayne is off? Have I missed that?
Signing for Millwall later this afternoon
    Free transfer I heard

Id rather sell him to get funds for Kelman rather than Ramsay!

The good thing is we have more options up front, if he’s not on form he can drop to the bench and try to work his way back into the team.
  • From what we've seen so far, I can see what the appeal of Kelman would be if we played this shape going forward - making smart runs and hopefully making the most of what chances we get.

    Ramsay is not being sold.

Tc looked absolutely lost out there
He did towards the end of the season. Yes, he won the fk at Wembley but last half a dozen games of the season he seemed uninterested.
Just a young player, who has had a good season, running out of steam for the last few games. Have faith, we know he can be a good exciting player, but still young
  • Sky currently showing the play off matches in order. Just seen our 1st leg & now starting is the 2nd leg of Stockport v Orient. Will be interesting to see Olaofe & Kelman.....anyone else I should be looking out for (Donley ?)
  • Second half underway, no changes

TC form dipped after Nathan went OTT in his praise after the 3 excellent games Tyreece had where he also scored a couple of goals.
I said at the time, unless NJ is trying to sell him why put pressure on the lad by saying he's as good or was it better than the premier players at Southampton he worked with.

    Campbell never stopped trying.

Sounds like NJ is shouting “hit Leaburn” (could be Micah, not Leaburn) after Lloyd Jones aims a long ball at the rather short TC
  • Mbick in the book

Why are refs at Cambridge always so shit to us?  I'm sure it was like this at our league game there last season.
  • JRC now playing the deeper midfield role, very happy to receive the ball
  • Terrible composure from Kaikai... Seen that one before!!
  • Hosts growing into the game a bit
  • Oh dear should have been 1-1, Kaikai shoots straight at Kaminski after trialist did well to make shooting difficult

No sign here that we have changed tactics from last season. Pass around at back then big boot up front hoping it will stick.
What were you expecting? Possession football?
