Underwhelmed.  Another REG - Too short for CB - not enough pace for wing back.

    And too old ...
    that's the spirit

Welcome Amari'i and all the best during your CAFC career
Pleased with this . Experienced Champ player, not spectacular, just goes about his business. Can cover all bases on the left of defence

One good thing I guess is that he's played 3 seasons with Kaminski over the last few years, so they should know how each other plays etc.

How the tables have turned, I remember we were all so jealous of the way Luton were being run and getting to the premier league , now we’ve got half their players and above them.
They had a good manager and good head scout.  Where are they now?

I don’t know too much about him, but he has made a decent number of appearances (from starts) in recent seasons.

    Welcome Amari.

Decent video of his farewell. Comes across a well-spoken and smart chap.

Interesting interview, was converted to LCB and had a good relationship with Doughty 👀 makes sense why NJ called with a CB as that’s where he’s played in more recent years, despite originally being a LWB.

Don't watch much football other than Charlton these days so only know what I've read on here.

Free transfer, experienced but has had a few injuries but saying that he played 31 games last season so not a complete sick note.

So far we have signed a GK, CB, CM and a forward so strengthening the spine of the side.

Four in early and still room and time for 2 or 3 more.

Time to push the boat out and go for Harvey Knibbs

Good player but he’s lost a lot of pace according to Luton fans. He was fantastic for them in their promotion season

Maybe the third kit will be orange in tribute to our feeder club.
    Let’s hope so.
  • Is he the first Charlton player to have an apostrophe in his first name? Plenty of others in their surname - N'Guessan, O'Kane, O'Connell, O'Shea, O'Linn - to name a few.
  • Looked well out of his depth in Prem but Jones should know how to get best out of him at this level. A bit of depth in the CB role. Not a signing to get too excited about but a sensible addition to the squad on a free.

    What about O'Fcuk Its-Fox?

So why Knibbs if you don’t watch much football other than Charlton? 😉

He played in a team in the same division as us last season and the season before that so I am vaguely aware of his existence.  ;)

I don't think there is anything not to like about this signing. An experienced player who adds depth to the squad.

I see this as a squad replacement for McIntyre / Potts from last season as a versatile left footed defender who can fill in as a full back and central defender.

I still feel we could employ another left footed wing back or alternatively sign a left footed player further up the pitch to replace Small.

Mass sales at Luton. Looks like they are skint.
I guess Nick Owens TV AM money wasn’t going to last forever.
I don't know that Luton are skint, but they will need to cut their cloth accordingly.

Most clubs need to substantialy reduce wage bill and expenditure after relegation - especially dropping into the Third Division.

Quite likely Kaminski and Bell were high earners at Luton - most Third Division clubs don't pay £12,000 + wages pw

Generally happy to see what they are saying.... if he can get a proper summer when he is fit, people think he is a good champ defender and wish him well.

Cool. A player called Bell. It’s a no brainer.

A lot of other teams forums a generally quite hard to navigate. Look as if they were set up early 2010’s and never updated since. Makes you grateful that CL is relatively user friendly

So he'll be primarily competing with Gillesphey for the LCB spot in a back three do we think, rather than with Edwards for LB/LWB?

    From my Luton supporting mate.

Blimey...Just seen Bell has signed.....he was pretty awful last year but previously been very good...suits Jones three man defence as he plays on left....he got a lot of clangers in his locker though.  The keeper is good...great shotvstopper been player of the.year for past two-years.  People say he does not command his box well but he is good signing

    Decent left sided cover.
Guessing this is the replacment for Small then

I'm not expecting Ding dong to go past 3 defenders like Thierry did against Lincoln 1st half as a right winger  so no way is he a replacement for Small.

Polar opposite I would think and a Left sided defender to compete with Macca and Josh.

From reading Luton fans comments their ownership individually are not particularly wealthy and with parachute payments dwindling they seem open to letting any player worth a decent amount / high wage earner leave the club.

Most relegated clubs will lose a couple of their best players but Luton look like they are going to be stripped to the bones of their best.

There seems very little optimism of them making a swift return to the Championship.

I believe they put a lot of the PL riches into building their new stadium as opposed to investing it in the squad. They're going to get picked apart this summer even with parachute payments.

Well if this goes anything like my Football manager save, we get promoted from league one, we sign Armari Bell , we get promoted again and we settle as an upper mid table prem team. Happy days!
Must be causious though. We are only truley back when our fans are complaining about upper Premier League mid table
