Away Allocations in the Championship

If the majority of fans travelled by cars we'll end up with shitholes like this even further from town centres.

On the topic of away allocations, what is the situation regarding the train station with home and away fans after games?
In L1 we hardly saw an away attendance, but this will be different playing the likes of Millwall, Birmingham (again), Leicester, Sheffield U and W, Swansea etc.
Do the police hold the away fans in the South stand for a period? Am simply asking as an elderly family member is thinking of getting a season ticket, but is not in great physical condition, health wise and seem slightly concerned!0 -

14% of our Wembley demand to sell out Blackburn away. Easily done.
I realise you are joking, but I have been there when we have taken 200.
Barnsley away we tend not to do too well. Port Vale last season seemed quite empty.
Just hoping the excitement of the championship encourages more people to go.Obviously you had certain clubs who took big numbers everywhere back in the day, the likes of Leeds, Man U, Chelsea. But they weren’t the norm. most clubs would only take big numbers away if it was a local game, or there was a lot riding on a certain game. (And bare in mind this was the days before we had play offs and a lot of these games were dead rubbers with a third of the season remaining.)I mean we took 400 up to Leeds for a midweek game this season, a few weeks after playing there in the cup (and taking over 2000 there for that). In the past, for a club of our size, that would’ve been seen as a fairly decent turn out, taking in to consideration the circumstances. But we got pelters for it at the time 🤷🏻I agree with your opening two paragraphs. In the late 70's(when I started going) and throughout the 80's, away followings throughout the country were generally shocking. This was probably due to the fact that at almost any away game you were fair game for a slap from the locals, I'd be surprised if I went to an away game and did not see some sort of grief.Nowadays away support has possibly picked up due to being able to travel hassle free and enjoy the day.3 -

There is no segregating or holding back the away fans. I have yet to see any issues with home and away fans together. There should be no concerns other than crowd congestion.

Of course there’s a group who go looking for it with likeminded people away from the ground but I can’t remember the last time I saw trouble at an away game in the ground. Apart from the silly posturing that you get in almost every ground around the country at some point or another0

Thing is I can understand them doing the members only for local derbies and games v the likes of Leeds, but away to Preston on a Tuesday night? Ridiculous0 -

The reply I gave was in response to the question of the gentleman being able to get a train after the game.

There should be no concerns other than crowd congestion.I agree with that, BUT I have always found that once you got to the top of Floyd Road to make your way to the station all was okay, just the amount of people wanting to use the station.I stand by my post that the gentleman should be okay getting the train.I have never seen a problem at the station in any way, have never seen a punch thrown.0 -
