I am certain that will happen in a season after promotion. But would that be the case after 8 seasons, with an all ticket & members only restrictions? Very much doubt it. Indeed, I can remember going to London derbies in the PL with my dad, where Charlton had’t sold out!Let’s be honest, compared to Leeds, Wednesday, Portsmouth, Plymouth… Millwall & Charlton fighting over away turn outs is like two bald men fighting over a comb. Pointless!

I would, but Millwall fans aren’t that interested in stats. Charlton fans are. The amount of times I have seen it get lairy in pubs as Charlton & Palace fans shout insults at each other about attendances. Someone’s ribena & cheese & onion crisps went flying once.
Do one because Charlton fans aren't interested in Millwall stats either.
The post that confirmed it for me was when he started comparing performance from the turn of the century. Classic Millwall fan logic to apply selective date filters when looking at history. Think everyone's just bored of him now.2 -

Do one because Charlton fans aren't interested in Millwall stats either.I was comparing & contrasting a stat that someone else brought up. That is not trolling or taking the piss. You can say it’s not interesting. But that’s like everything in life. I simply ignore posts / topics that I don’t personally find interesting. The only thing I am taking the piss out of is myself… for being the sad case quoting these geeky stats. Hardly makes me look cool, does it 🤷🏻♂️0 -

More often than not when we have been playing at Elland Road, there has been more Leeds on the train from London than Charlton.
Whilst I don't particularly like going to Leeds and am still scarred from '87, I have to say that they have one of the best away followings in the country. When they have nothing to play for they still take thousands, fair play tbf.
No matter what division they're in, the day/time of kick off, how well or how badly they're doing, PL, championship, league one, they sell out everywhere they go.
Sunderland's support is really good too, especially given the distances they have to travel. But of course they are both huge clubs with massive support and belong in the Premier league.

Is it true that you cant buy a ticket for a Millwall away game without having a season ticket or being a member? Do they have to pay for membership or just be on the club's database? Seems fanciful to me tbh. Just curious, not having a dig at our resident Lions.0

14% of our Wembley demand to sell out Blackburn away. Easily done.
I realise you are joking, but I have been there when we have taken 200.
Barnsley away we tend not to do too well. Port Vale last season seemed quite empty.
Just hoping the excitement of the championship encourages more people to go.0 -

Just hoping the excitement of the championship encourages more people to go.Obviously you had certain clubs who took big numbers everywhere back in the day, the likes of Leeds, Man U, Chelsea. But they weren’t the norm. most clubs would only take big numbers away if it was a local game, or there was a lot riding on a certain game. (And bare in mind this was the days before we had play offs and a lot of these games were dead rubbers with a third of the season remaining.)I mean we took 400 up to Leeds for a midweek game this season, a few weeks after playing there in the cup (and taking over 2000 there for that). In the past, for a club of our size, that would’ve been seen as a fairly decent turn out, taking in to consideration the circumstances. But we got pelters for it at the time 🤷🏻0 -
I only went to one out of the four midweek home matches. Even as a season ticket holder for Charlton it’s hard to convince myself to go and be back home after midnight, when I can watch it on TV.Definitely think the new Sky deal will dramatically reduce home/away numbers for the midweek matches IMO for almost every club. Hard to justify sorting accommodation/travel and missing time of work for a midweek match when can just watch it on TV instead.0

Very few fans travelled by car nearly always coach or train . Think our supporters club man usually had about 120 tickets. my first long away cost £5 return to Carlisle on the train. To put it into perspective that was about the same cost as a southern region weekly Bexley - London season ticket and was 1/4 of my weekly wage2
-
I love the logic that you can prevent antisocial behaviour by ensuring that everyone in the crowd is definitely a Millwall supporter.5
