[cite]Posted By: Weegie Addick[/cite]If we don't go straight back up, we are in serious sh*t, new owners or not. We still have too much of a Prem structure, and the downward spiral starts here.
How about some Penguins, please, Carter -they're real biscuits? Or shall I bring some Tunnock's tea cakes, snowballs and caramel wafers down from Scotland??
Tunnocks tea cakes and the caramel wafers are the nuts. I like a nice bit of tablet as well.
As for the all the moaning, I just prefer to ignore it. I really think the championship this season is going to be bloody exciting - there is no clear favourite, yes there's contenders, of which we are one of them, but no team(s) that stand head and shoulders above the rest. I think we're in with a chance and I envy all you lot that will witness a really exciting season down at the valley.
[cite]Posted By: AFKA Bartram[/cite] If we fail to make the play-offs, as some people expect, then both Pardew and the players have seriously failed IMO.
I still stand by that point by the way. We have had the right mixture of resources and experience to at minimum secure play offs. The earlier valid excuses of mass changes etc won't be fully valid if we tail off and finish 7th or lower.
But if that was the case, i'm not automatically saying i would want the manager changed, and i think it would need a pretty strong case put to me to convince me not to stay with him until November at least.
[cite]Posted By: northstandsteve[/cite]Barts said if we didn't make the play off's Pards and the players would have failed miserably i agree who else does?
Play offs was the minimum requirement as far as I was concerned. Not saying that we won't still get there but I can't see how ths season could be classed as anything but a failure if we don't make it.
Yep i agree also playoffs a minimum and by that i mean the final or it has been a poor season however i feel that we will only be stronger for this season no matter what happens but i am very glass half full
I said intially mid table, then changed it to top eight after seeing a couple of early season games. Have to say that my expectations have probably grown out of all proportion and Im actually dissapointed that we havent capitalised in a poor league. If only we werent so inconsistent

We'll be ok, 2 games and the cynicism that some have shown is shocking.
Len got it spot on with his concerns re consistency. Does he get all the biscuits?
