I think he is interested in investing, rather than buying. Millwall were granted a new 999 year lease last year. They also look like getting / have the green light on developing that land, plus The Den has been approved for redevelopment as part of the New Bermondsey scheme, with plans to take capacity up to 34,000. There’s also footing for a new tube station right next to the ground put in. All this needs money, but it is a great investment due to location etc.
Charlton mates laughed when I said if any club is due a revolutionary big money takeover / investment it is Millwall, because of all the above. An inner London club in sight of the Shard & Canary Wharf with a development opportunity to boot!1 -

Previous ME backing in EFL clubs has seemingly ended badly, has there been an example where its gone well as Charlton and Wigan have suffered badly from it, whilst Milton Keynes are a case that remains to be seen. Am sure there are others I've forgotten.
So from a Millwall stand point, I'd take this news very cautiously.

Take your red & white glasses off for a moment… Millwall are inner city London, you can see the Shard & Canary Wharf from the ground. A ground that now has a 999 year lease & been given green light to be regenerated with shops, a hotel, sports centre & homes. Plus, PP for increasing capacity to 34,000. It’s also getting a tube station literally next to it.The bad rep? Chelsea were pretty much a far right rally in the 70s & 80s. Look at them now. £800-1k season tickets at The Den in the PL will soon filter out the riff-raff.0 -

Millwall were given a 999 year lease last year. Which effectively makes them owners. Hence why they can develop their own plans now. In a funny way, being leaseholders from a council on a 999 year lease means they / stadium are / is far safer from being at the whim of an unscrupulous developer or Belgium nutter.Gribbo said:PWOR -

Bristol City are a good option for someone ambitious looking to get involved in football.
Have consistent crowds the last decade or so, big-ish area, a lot of potential and in a healthy position footballing wise, pretty nice ground as well, quite similar to ours.4 -

The whole thing just seemed a bit unconvincing, I get he owns other clubs abroad but surely he would have done his research and know that this type of response was going to come if he went public.
And I doubt the Berylsons would just sell to anyone.2 -
