We played a version of Irish poker (4 cards dealt to each person discard two after flop) at lunch time boozing in a restaurant and this hand came up , luckily we had a £100 per hand limit on losses but the fella with the eventual royal flush was a bit pissed and was gonna fold after flop when he was open ended on the flush (it was a friendly game) but I pointed out what he had and he played on .
Geordie fella we worked with had the quads was gutted to say the least !

Not into poker at all but heard Victoria Coren-Mitchell on the radio yesterday & she said she's won just over £2m in her professional gambling career.....perhaps another reason why David Mitchell married her ?? ;)

Question, is it at least theoretically possible for someone to sign up for me using their bank details/card and with me paying them the £5.50 through something like PayPal?

Also, it's a flat £5 buy-in tourney right? You just pay that one fee and get x number or chips and whoever is left standing at the end wins right? (i.e. there's no ongoing betting of money, it's just the initial £5).

Also, if that is possible, would I be able to see their bank/card details? Usually they're hashed out so at most you can see the last four but I won't even bother asking if it shows the whole number, don't want to put anyone in a spot where someone else can see their bank details.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes someone can sign up on your behalf and you can use their account, if that's what you mean?

The $5.50 is a flat set amount. Everyone gets 2000 chips with that and the winner is the last one standing, the first 2-3 places (depending on numbers) will get the relevant percentage of the overall entrance money paid to them. Poker stars keep 50 cents, from all entants and the $5 goes into the prize pot.

Following on from that, yes you could do that. However if they feel you have been multiaccounting or if they can tell you are playing with someone elses details it will be banned.

Do it at your own peril, it will come to when you need to withdraw they normally get you to verify by you sending in copy of driving license or passport.

A little hand break down that I played live the other day.

    I had K-9

    Flop was K-9-9

    Turn was an A

    River was a 9

The other guy went all-in and turned over Kings.

    Absolutely brutal for him.

This is so sick but wtf were you doing in the hand with K9 in the first place?!

I must admit the hands dealt on line are a little wayward, I saw a few times full houses lose to 4 of a kind, almost always in the last card. Good hands come out far too often.

I also found often when you joined a table your first hand was a winner!

Depends how the action went, cant really comment without knowing stack/pre flop actions lol

I played local game in workmans club last night first time was ok £15 rebuy/add on max 3 rebuys. only 7 of us, with 3 left i was joint CL with other person who was ok player as played with him before at eltham poker club, he asked for deal and split 3 ways even though other person had probably 1/4 chips we did. I accepted as they all mates and didnt want to seem like a dick, normally in a club/casino i will never deal. Still £30 spent , £80 return not a bad little return for a Thursday eve.

I did go Westfield on Monday with a mate, came 8th out of about 30+ top 6 got paid , played ok seem to get the bug where i play alot and dont play for a while. My mate came 2nd on Monday so that was good.

    An okay player down there?!

Eltham Terrace Club is like printing money if you 1) have the bankroll and 2) play basically straight down the line ABC poker, particularly on the cash tables.

My strike rate at the tourneys there is very good when I go (which isn't often) - once had six consecutive cashes (two wins and two 2nd places). If you're sensible then there's a lot of money to be made!
