I know 2016 has been a shit year for celebrity deaths, but I don't think 'the celebrity death curse of 2016' can be blamed for this 1 as the guy was 93!

So many of the actors in Porridge are no longer with us.

    Nags
Norman Stanley Fletcher - Ronnie Parker
    Lennie Godber - Richard Beckinsale
    Warren - Sam Kelly
The Honourable Mr Justice Stephen Rawley - Maurice Denham
    Cyril Heslop - Brian Glover
    Harris - Ronald Lacey
    Horrible Ives - Ken Jones

    Screws
    Govenor Venables - Michael Barrington
    Mr Mackay - Fulton Mackay
    Mr Barrowclough - Brian Wilde

Of the main characters, there is only Blanco Webb (David Jason), his cellmate Lukewarm (Chritopher Biggins), Jock McLaren (Tony Osoba) and Jarvis (David Daker) left from the main inmates; and Fletch's daughter Ingrid (Patricia Brake).

Those old enough to remember will recall him playing the patriarch character Billy in the very good series 'Fox' along with a very young Ray Winstone.

Top class character actor - RIP.

Yes, I can remember that. He was outstanding in that too..

    RIP Harry the Grout.

RIP Peter, this has been a terrible year and many many good actors/actresses and singers have left us, and of course dear old Terry as well.

    93 is a good knock.

Doubt he'd have lasted that long if he Done his time in one of the less cushiest cells and not had the screws in his back pocket.

    ;-). RIP

Loved that series (1980). Always wondered why it never went to another one.
