Tal Ben Haim

Israeli press thinks Standard Liege are going to dump useless Tal Ben Haim at the Valley. In case you forgot: TBH is poor player who has hardly played in the last 3 years and in no way is better than our current defenders. Just ask any Portsmouth fan what they think about him as a person and a player...

I have said on other threads I would like this to happen.

TBH has played in the Prem for most of the last 10 years including spells at Chelsea and Manchester City, surely for a team in the bottom half of the CCC he would be better than I would have hoped for.

Alnwick playing yesterday rather than Thuram gives me hope that SCP is in charge of team selection.TBH as a squad replacement for Cort would be welcome. Crucially for me he can cover Solly's injury at right back as well as centre back.

No for TBH for me. Ok he never screwed over Pompey as he had a contract so was due that legally but compare him to other players who wrote amounts off and deferred payments etc and it would leave a sour taste with me. He has been stealing a living for the last three seasons so it's a no from me.

During the last 3 seasons TBH was signed but hardly played at Portsmouth, QPR and Standard. Useless.

  • We won't see Cort again this season and probably never. We have Wood, Morrison and Dervite as senior pros and an untried Lennon and Feely. There is talk of Morrison and Celtic and centre halves pick up bookings a plenty. TBH for the rest of the season would not in my opinion be a bad thing. He's not the future but this season is all about survival.

Tal Ben Haim is bloody useless. Devoid of pace and unconcerned when caught out of position. He's not bothered and we shouldn't be looking

Might be a relatively useful backup to Solly for the season - after all, its not as if he's going to break our Bank like he did Portsmouth- plus he has a lot of experience. Might be useful for our short term goals.

If we are looking for backup to Solly, let's get in a proper right back - not some lumbering CB past his best.

Mabe thats what i was trying to say (badly) in that he could cover all of the back four.

  • We will not see Cort again IMO.

We can't be relying on Lennon and Feeley at this stage

    Dervite is not very good.

    Leaves Morro and Wood.

I do not blame a player for wanting to be paid his contract (Portsmouth), it is the clubs fault for offering him too much, not his for accepting.

Don't know enough about his current pedigree to know if he would be an improvement but his CV certainly suggests there is a good chance he would be.

    Reply to the President:

Fair enough - but I was trying to say we don't want a CB covering full back unless it's an emergency once the game is already under way.

Players play at their best in their own specialist position.

I know this is going to be slightly controversial but I honestly don't think that Dervite is much worse than Morisson.
