Kick Ass 2...and Charlton Life.............a little secret

I don't know how many (if any) are interested in knowing that the sequel to Kick Ass (starring Nicholas Cage) called Kick Ass 2 is due to be released on 16/8/13, this time the star is Jim Carrey............however Charlton Life now have a connection to the film...one of the cast (quite a large part) is our own German Shepherd dog Anchaz Cinna......she plays Jim Carrey's dog Sophia.........believe me what she does through the film is quite gruesome.....but Mrs RM and me are so proud she was chosen to play the part. She went away to the film studios for 5 weeks last September to work with Jim and we were sworn to secrecy..........however a clip is now officially on u tube so I'm now allowed to mention it. the film will be a red carpet do....I'm hopeful we will get an invite. Cinna is back home with us now........and only MRs RM knows the command.....if you watch the clip on u tube you will understand how nervous I am!!!

I'm just overwhelmed by it to be honest.....people are saying she will be offered a lot more work (she is only 2) and the Beeb have already been in touch.....Jim (Carrey) wanted Cinna by his side all the time.....even when not on set......its a little weird as its the first time we have been approached.... ever..... for any of our GSD's and we have never advertised them or done any TV or film work...but she was asked for so we sent her and now she will be in a Hollywood Blockbuster.... completely surreal.

    That's fantastic, RM.

Credit must go to you& Mrs RM for the way you've trained her etc.

Out of interest, how was the approach made initially & where had they learned about her in the first place ?

I was up at Walden Manor before Easter and kept my knees together at all times when Cinna was about. Bailey couldnt make it due to the weather, he's always wanted to date a film star ;)

Sadly I didn't meet Jim....as to how she got the role..we were contacted via email asking if we had any GSD's not bite trained (some of ours are)..I can explain more when the film is out... we said we had 1 (Cinna) not bite trained and sent her for an audition....she was there for less than 10 mins and got the gig.....she is now trained to do all sorts of stuff (including walking backwards on command...... not a natural thing for any dog), we have now been asked if we can provide 8 GSD's for a TV series (dont know what) but something to do with the Old Bill....Mrs RM does the basic training and she (Cinna) had a specialist trainer for the stunts she does.......we are one proud set of owners.......thanks for all the nice comments...mind you any bad ones and I'll send her around!!! LOL

Bite trained? Does that mean you train the dog to bite someone on command?

Yes @AFKA the owners receive a small amount, nothing that is anywhere near life changing (might buy a few pints though!!!) but the fact that our kennel name is out there all helps, assuming its seen on the credits of course!!!

Haven't you asked that question on the 'Would ya' thread?

Out of interest, RM, do you know why they'd want a non bite trained dog? Surely the bite trained one would have done that last scene better!

Well done though - has Cinna become a bit of a diva now?

@North Lower Neil.......I do know the answer but for fear of spoiling the film I cant go into detail...I think I'll just say that a normal bite trained dog will react to certain movements irrespective of who is making them.....Cinna has been specially trained to bite in certain area's and ignore other movements............therefore a normal bite trained dog could not have done the short sequence seen on the trailer.....all will become clear when the film is out. Has she become a diva....well she certainly has let us know she is back home.....but she is certainly a dog with some character...I'll post a picture of her later. Thanks for asking though.

    It does indeed,
So, for instance if you were sitting in a cafe in, oh I don't know, Sandbanks, for example and the dog overheard the words "top, top player", "that's for sure","down to the bare bones","wheeler dealer" they could be trained to bite the bloke in the knackers? Interesting...

While you in my company could give my dog various instructions and he would obey them, (sit, down, paw) most others he would ignore you. Bite trained dogs should only respond to its
respond only to the handler, dogs that responded to anybody are no good to no one also in Bailey's case while I did limited bite work (Working trials/IPO/Shutzhund) with him I used the commands in German to prevent accidently use of the words in conversation.
But I wouldnt just say "get him or bite him" in german but something that became a keywords.

Hi @bournemouth addick......we only use commands that are not everyday words and they are trained to work on our voices only.....so you would be safe mate in having a normal everyday conversation....our dogs would not react. Hope that helps.

Has Cinna got her own bank account in Monaco yet?

Unless I pop around @TCE's and start speaking German B-)

Had the most wonderful GS growing up with us as kids. When I think of what he put up with with three kids pulling him around it's a bit scary now but he had the most amazing temperament and never once gave any of us so much as a nip.

Soppy as anything, lovely looking and huge but not sure he had the same smarts as your Cinna though. Looking forward to the movie.
