I don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but Sheffield Utd have also won their first 3 games.

And for those mentioning our 100% start two seasons ago - one big difference for me, is that that was against teams who ended up in the bottom 7 or 8.  (and let's be fair, the team who finished in 2nd place, only finished 2 points higher than us, so it wasn't a particularly bad season!  Anyway, that conversation has been done to death)
it was me what mentioned that great start two seasons ago, but you are right - the teams we were beating mostly finished bottom half at best

great start to the season & having listened/watched as much as humanly possible from this side of the world, we look much more confident & dominant

loving the front two Hayes & BWP - seem to be gelling well & this is a big difference from that first L1 season where we relied pretty much solely on Burton & Bailey for goals.
and even at that early stage 2 years ago, people were rightly predicting that those fortunate victories wouldn't last too long and that we'd need to improve if we had real aspirations of going up. not heard too many criticisms this season yet, though i'm sure some will come. you can't please everyone

seems to be a bit more fight about this lot, more of a team.

how many did we have there in the end? great win

According to the match thread about 1500 although the commentators mentioned the "thousands of Charlton supporters" ;-)

Is that the first time we have won at Colchester in the league?  Think that's what they said on Twitter...

    Was at game.

Was brilliant first half, great finishes by bwp and he was so desperate for the 3rd, he nearly score a tastey lob in second half.

In second half colchester came at us a lot more, they put in some great crosses but strikers let them down, odejayi (is that his name) missed and absolute sitter, similar to lee hughe's at the valley last season.

Very impressed with hayes, his got such a fantastic touch, quality player.

Also, I think we're developing a kinda of counter-attacking style, we seem to absorb pressure and then burst forward

If you look at the photo posted on the match thread, our end was nearly full so I'd guess 1800.

Three games, three wins, we are the team to beat in L1.
Same as Sheff Utd to be fair.

But a great result against a tough side - delighted to get 6 points from two games that last year we got 1.  Roll on Saturday!

we've got the superior goals scored and conceded rates i believe?

Great result, a long way to go, but starting to become clear this team can definitely challenge for an automatic place.

A month ago I was hopeful, but you can't judge a team on pre-season results or performances.

We still haven't seen Green start a game or Alonso even make the bench. I agree with Bexley Dan that we could do with the option of a big striker and a quick centre back. I trust the board would bring in a loan if needed if we suffer any major injuries. We should have good cover and options across the pitch, that competition should be important if/when we go on a bad run. Competition seems to be getting the best out of Wagstaff at least (and better players around him of course).

Well pleased with that. I know we're only three games in but it seems like the team is generating a buzz about themselves. Sounds like they're bursting with confidence and won't take a loss lying down.

Anyone see how Elliot picked up that yellow card?

    A bizarre line from Sky;

Charlton continued their good start to the season as they beat local rivals Colchester 2-0 to keep their place at the top of the table

Okay, so Sky think we are an East London side, but don't they know Colchester is nearer Southend?

I was gutted that Jason Euell didn't score, Oakes made a superb save plus three others. No surprise he was CUFC man of the match, they could hardly have given it to CAFC! If Jason had scored I am sure I would have wept.

Great team performance, worthy winners. To have seen a packed stand of CAFC fans must have lifted the players when they came out.

And I renewed my STs today, have moved to H block North Upper!

Think the atmosphere was fantastic, we out played Colchester. I think that we are dealing with pressure well on and off the pitch and we look a good attacking force with Hayes linking with BWP.

Comments from Col U manager John Ward, who gets the blue treatment as i can't deny he was there !

“I can’t match them because I haven’t got a million pounds and my
players are going to make mistakes every now and again and you get
    punished by them.

“They didn’t make too many mistakes in the same way that we did and if
you do that against good teams, they’re going to punish you.

“That’s just how the game has gone for us tonight and on another night
you get yourselves in good positions like we did in previous games.

“Charlton are a very good side and they were the better team on the night.

“They were sharper and quicker, particularly in the first half.

“They were very pacy, very direct and very effective.”

    i was at the game,

all in all good result and better performance, slick passing and our defence is proving critics wrong, never looked troubled and look to be a well oiled unit, our passing was good and as said we could have had 3 or 4. very happy with the performance, thought solly stood out for me, he's making that right back spot is own and nobody looks like taking it. stephens wasn't as pivotal as he was vs bournemouth but he engineers space for others, and to have our players shooting from range is something i forgot was possible, very happy with tonight and i think we can only get better.

    EDIT:

i want a special mention to go to bwp. anybody who said he was lazy should be branded a fool he tracked back constantly and got a goal from it. top game and goals were thoroughly deserved.

My god, John Ward's words are music to my ears.

Dare we believe that we're coming out of the dark days?
