This is getting out of hand. Send the fecking ARMY in now or at least get the water canons out.. at least that would put out a few fires! In france or anywhere else they would have done by now. This is becoming a joke.
If the police seem powerless to do anything, send the army in, maybe a bit over the top, but this could escalate nationwide if they don't stop it now
Thing is, the Police aren't powerless to do anything. They're being hamstrung by political correctness, fear of being accused of police brutality and a lack of guidance from government. The el jefe should step up and take matters into his own hands. Announcement on telly - everyone inside by 10 o'clock or they get the ever loving f*** kicked out of them. The old bill could easily stop it by steaming in and battering the shit out of them, but policy dictates that they don't. trust me, at some point, they'll have to get heavy with them.
What on earth do all of you who call for the army to be called in think they could actually do? 1. There is not a single unit that I know of that isnt stretched to its very limits. 2. They will not be able to use live rounds. 3. The numbers who are riot trained are at their lowest level for 40 years. 4. Command communications and control. How do you think this will happen? Its not possible in the short time frame we are faced with - by the time resources are mobilised for this epic organisational challenge the rioters will be exhausted. No doubt planners are right now hard at work seeing what could be done in the future, but for the next week or so it is just unthinkable. 5. Do you really think the police will want to be seen to be defeated by these scum? Can you imagine for a minute what that will mean in the future? How will they be able to effecively police even down to station level command whenever anything like this threatens to kick off again? 6. Pictures of our armed forces on British streets beamed worldwide will have incalculable effects. It really would be a last ditch effort.
From News Thread - 2021: Interesting little tale from Upton Park just in. Hoodies there tried to attack a shop, and the shop owner and his staff came and beat them all up apparently.
Floyd Montana the whole point of putting that small quote was that he was spouting off a load of old tosh which you would say to a 5 year old who has just been a naughty boy.
Got to collect lads from Bromley Common later, 11ish, driving from Lee, was planning to go via Grove Park so any updates appreciated. Will probably swerve via Mottingham and Chislehurst....is it really going off in Grove Park? Used to live one minute from the road in Lewisham with the burning cars, quite scary in one way, particularly as my son is 17 and I simply want to keep him clear of all trouble.
We've had 2 weeks of the summer holidays, and the kids are now bored and have no money, there is a lot of criminality out there which has nothing to do with any cause or disaffection, simple manipulated opportuniam.

Ha Ha - classic!
Brilliant but i worry for them as the cowardly c**** will be back with double the numbers no doubt.
Sirens are constant in Charlton now and a friend who lives in delafield just witnessed a mob being chased down his street with numerous police vans chasing. That is what he just told me.

Think Police will advise no football over next couple of days to avoid gatherings of crowds and them being unable to cope. Someone claims that there are shops on fire in Shenfield near Brentwood, which I find particularly hard to believe.

Diane Abbott and Ken Livingstone interviewed in the space of a couple of minutes, are the Beeb trying to deliberately upset people?
