Lewisham? Nah. Just rumours, and people joking that you couldn't tell if there had been a riot there.

I'll come join you, although what is there to loot, CO-OP?
  • Christ at this rate they'll be rioting on the streets of Tunbridge Wells by the morning and it can only be a matter of time before the violence reaches Chipping Sodbury.

I think the police were more worried it would spread to Croydon than anything else. I had a friend in Rehab nightclub in Croydon and they were locked in for a period of time.

It's the riot equivelant of Football Rumours, LBC seems to be the only place with any reliable info.

SInce it was LBC that originally reported it, I'd take that with a pinch of salt too!
  • Didn't get much sleep with the sirens going all night , going to drive a different way to work and check out the state of the place , sounded bad though just behind our place ,
  • Listened to the Sky News Press review last night. This woman describing herself as a journalist and feminist said this looting and rioting could be attributed to recent goverment spending cuts.To me this is an insult to law abiding, hard working people who are just making ends meet at the moment. The people rioting are the offspring of the same scumbag underclass that rioted in the 80's.While good people are dying in Afghanistan we are witnessing silly, disrespectful, mindless and undisciplined young people on the rampage..The only reason the police have not come down hard is because they have one hand strapped behind their back due to all these useless watchdogs.Give the police 100percent backing and they would sweep these scum back into the sewers. Then back them 100percent and they can start fumigating. The police make mistakes and you do get some bad apples but they are the only bastion against this level of criminality.

What evidence am I looking at ? I have no prejudice and im not sure where ive shown that, just find it hard that some who has been detained is allowed to walk around the house on his own.

Well,in your first post, you described the guy shot by the police as a "victim" so, without knowing any facts at all, you've already made your own mind up as to who was to blame:  that would be showing prejudice wouldn't it?

Dictionary definition of victim - Someone or something which has been hurt, damaged or killed.
  • I doubt it went off in Lewisham. I went to bed at midnight, didn't hear anything at that time or heard of any reports this morning.

Hope no one's been caught up in it, it seems to just be teens v police/shop windows rather than attacks on residential areas, hopefully I'm not mistaken. Definitely need to step up the policing.

    Brixton looting.

Just watching coverage of the scum 'kung fu' kick glass shop fronts to gain access - why don't they go through the glass, sever an artery and die. Police have the power to deal with incidents like this - an offence of Riot under the Puiblic Order Act carrys a decent term of imprisonment (10 yrs), so nick them and bang them up for years. There's no defence -

Where 12 or more persons who are present together use or threaten unlawful violence for a common purpose and the conduct of them (taken together) is such as would cause a person of reasonable firmness present at the scene to fear for his personal safety, each of the persons using unlawful violence for the common purpose is guilty of riot.

  • I heard a different story, 'eye witnesses' say 3 shots were fired and they all hit the victim... 1 shot to the face Also.
I do find it quite amusing that everyone here just presumes the police's story to be true.

The Bristol one you all mention is corupt too. The police supposedly let the guy who they arrested, walk around the house and go make a brew, at which point, he stabbed himself through the heart ? Im sorry, but something doesnt add up.
So that makes it all right for looting and burning peoples homes down.

Yes, I hope everyone is OK: last night it was like 'listening' to live reports from a war zone. Can,t imagine what it must be like to have a mob like that outside when you've got kiddies & missus upstairs. Going to take a long time to get over this but no doubt the 'talking heads' on the TV will tell us what best for the scumbags and how to help them with their problems! Can't help feeling very depressed and worried.

I don't understand your post at all, where have they said that?
  •

To me, the post is suggesting that because the police may be wrong that it exonerates the mob to go out on the streets and create havoc.

Just reading the reports - Enfield, Chingford, Edmonton, Leyton, Walthamstow, Brixton, Streatham, Tottenham (again) and Westfield - most of these areas have nothing to do with the people from Tottenham and the alleged fact that Tottenham Police 'show no respct to the local yooot'. World has gone mad. Was up until 4am this morning after making sure family business was safe in one of these targetted areas.

There's a lot of opportunistic people out there.
  • Mate your spot on , this was thieves and hundreds of them, there were 10 neighbours and myself standing on our road keeping an eye on groups of young men set on robbing and vandalising, was still outside at 1 am until ob finally parked at the end of our road and we felt that the danger had passed ,
  • Not being flippant, but, the Police Dogs looked to be enjoying themselves biting and chewing on these pr*tts.
  • I hope any little cock involved in any way shape or form dies a horrible death at a young age. And suffer bad news about close family before they do.
Mindless violence and nothing to do wit another person being shot.
