  • You would think so but when someone posts a rumour about Bromley and I work on the 5th floor in an office and we know nothing !! lol
Ii'll post if i hear anything. I've got mates who work then and seem to spend the whole day on facebook.
  • So in 2008 a guy in London is shot at 11 times by Police "marksmen" he is hit 5 times and dies. Obill wouldnt let him to speak to his wife although he asked to speak to her and she wanted to speak to him. He was assured that OBill would not open fire. He pointed the gun and was shot-----------no riot----no marches-----no Red Wedge giving it "its everyones fault".
  • Shine166 - by the way, I might not agree with your policital views, but your artwork is okay...!
whhhhhhey that will do me :), thank you
  • I know it's the Sun but pretty mad video on there...

When it looks this easy, no wonder it's spreading.

  • Nearest thing I've ever seen to recreational rioting in my lifetime. All very depressing and a bit scary. The only winner that will emerge from this awful mess will be the BNP and that's even scarier.
  • Watch out for the girls steaming out of H&M in that vid aswell! They've got time to try them on ffs

Fully agree. The police can control the majority of major incidents these days which have a xertain element of planning or risk in advance. What they can't deal with is being spread far and wide with little planning, which the opportunistic are now trying to take advantage of. This sadly has the potential to run further.

The only saving grace is the widespread level of cctv in town centres. Won't stop anything, but some definately will be picked up in the aftermath as a result.
  • A mate of mine used to work at Foot Locker in Brixton, incredible.
  • that video paul doesnt really make sense apart from some woman screaming its a gurl - cant even see whats going on.

Yes water cannons might be an idea.

  • With the amount of people involved in this, I can't see how anything can be done.

We certainly don't have the prison space to lock everyone involved up. More pointless tags and broken curfews I fear.
  • Friend of mine in Birmingham has said he's got a BBM with talking of similar scenes up there, few people on social media sites hearing the same news. These riots are showing youths everywhere that you can get away with this behaviour.
  • Curb It - the footage is allegedly what has caused all of this mayhem. It appears a 16 year old girl approached the riot Police line, was screamimg abuse at them and then threw either a bottle or a large stone at them. Quite justifiably she was physically detained and was put on the ground, sparking the chav reaction and then the need to steal and damage property on a city wide scale - reasonable? I think not.

That's supposed to be the flashpoint that started it. a 16yr old girl taken out by a group of police. A journo that was in line with the police reckons she approached, hurled abuse & then hurled a placard and brick. Of course, the story that quickly spread was "Police mob takes out innocent 16yr old girl"....

Water cannons would certainly bugger up any electrical goods the thieving scumbags may have looted!

I'm sure I heard on the news that water cannons are not legal in England (they are in NI) as a method of public order control.

They are legal in England, but the Met think they wouldn't work in London, cause they take so long to fill up between use.

Mate of mine came out of a club in Brixton last night to mass mayhem. Said local yoots were running around in masks, fighting each other. Saw some bloke waving a gun around. Sounded like she was pretty terrified.

The youth culture we have in this country was always going to reach a boiling point. Not gonna be fixed anytime soon. Or ever.
  • Water cannons were approved for use in December 2010 by Theresa May after the student riots and the attack on Prince Charles's car. Rothko is right though, they have limited use and not really ideal for prolonged situations.
  • Not being flippant, but, the Police Dogs looked to be enjoying themselves biting and chewing on these pr*tts.

Hope they've been innoculated, no telling what horrible diseases these dogs could pick up ;-)
  • Apprently Oxford Circus is a no go area tonight come 9pm, all round depressing.
  • Makes you think twice about bringing kids into this world it is full of ever increasing scum bags.

  • That device in the first You Tube clip would wake up London and Surrey - good idea though!
  • Boy, am I glad I am not a policeman or a politician. There's no easy solution to this.
  • Local youths rumoured to be targetting Welling Sewing Centre for looting tonight.
