Light-hearted or serious, lets have your prose:

There once was a red and white army,
Whose leader was PaulBaconSarnie.
They thought they were down,
But Pards turned it around,
And the Charlton Life forum went barmy !

Oh, that was a terrible song
    Sing as another one
    Just like the other one
    Sing us another one, do...
  • "Hope" is the thing with feathers,
    That perches in the soul.
And sings the tune without the words
    Despite Lisbie missing the goal.

    And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
    That kept Charlton supporters warm.

I've heard it in the chillest land
    And on the strangest sea,
    Yet never, in extremity,
did i feel it with Curbishley.
  • Nobody heard him, the Charlton fan,
    But still he lay moaning:
We were much further in trouble than you thought
    And not waving but drowning.
  • I'd like to know what will happen to Bent,
what journey has has in store.
    But as relegation looms,
    and his CAFC exit zooms,
Our Oli will stalk him no more.
  • He sat down and turned on the computer,
His fingers were trembling, but bold.
He pressed the send button, then run for the hills,
As he asked 'exactly what is Valley Gold' ?
  • I have nothing to say,
    About life itself
    When football is my everything,
    My sickness and my health
    Lost loves and daily grind
    Can be a heavy load
    But all fade to insignificance
As I sing Valley Floyd Road

  • Ode to Henry the elected fans' boss
Suffering with us each win, draw or loss
With Minty and Reg the Citeh travel he's planned
But if he goes will he sit or stand?

    :-)
  • Nobody heard him, the poor scouser
    But still he lay whinging:
I was much better than you thought
    And not working but skiving.

Poor chap, he always loved drinking
And now he's playing for Ipswich
It must have been too tough for him his heart gave way,
    They said.

Oh, no no no, it was too tough always
(Still the jug eared one lay whinging)
I was much too good to try all my life
    And not working but skiving.

  • ODE TO KISH

Kish you covered every blade of grass

Yes there were moments more suited to farce

But.... you gave your all to the Charlton cause

And from all true fans deserve applause
  • are you saying that non-supporters of kish aren't true fans? opened a big can of worms there eh len!!

No:-) just saying that true Charlton fans will applaud a whole hearted player who has appeared 200 times for the Club even if he is not their personal favourite.
  • Konchesky ?

    Pitcher ?

    Pitcher ?

They bad mouthed the Club so slightly different.

Besides I don't think either played 200 times for us.

Kish has been a model pro for 7 years.
  • There was a young man called Lisbie
Who kicked the ball like it was a Frisbie
At the goal he would aim
But it was always the same
And thats why we also call him Missbie

Well I think it is great - and might try and get this little gem published.
  • and then when that song is finished, instead of applause, everyone boo's until 1905 says you can stop?
  • You've got it sooz. I am now working on a little gem that I will call "An Ode to Valley Gold". Give me a few more minutes..................
  • Ok - 1905 clears his throat...........

1905 is not the loyalist supporter in the fold
But when the big match tickets are to be sold
    He will always be there
    And not in his armchair
Cos he pays his tenner to Valley Gold

    Thank you

  • sausage will be at the game
with a vodka or 2 to her name
    she'll never be sold
    on the fool's valley gold
but laugh at 1905's zimmer frame

    Sing as another one
    Just like the other one

  • lol

I tell you what I have a blister on my heal that is smarting a tad. So I could do with a zimmer frame.

For fear of being sexist, I previously thought that only birds got blisters on their feet due to those high heal thingys .............just shows you.
