  • I believe great teams have great keepers.*

If we can find and afford a much better keeper we should do it.

    * Brazil 1970 are the exception to this rule.
    They didn't need a keeper.

Wouldn't surprise me if there is a change around between the sticks this summer.
    What, moved closer together?

We don’t know how good he could have been, he never had anything to do.

Good Charlton teams have good goalkeepers too.  The 98 promotion side being the exception to the modern era rule .  Kaminski and Mannion do have that feel of Petterson/Salmon to me .

Wickens at Lincoln is somebody to keep an eye on…… Had it confirmed to me we like him a lot
Came up last year too even prior to promotion that he was someone we had a real interest in.

A keeper with 4 assists last season I can see why we'd be very very interested :)

He is a unit as well isn't he?

Not surprised to see him making his way back to a decent level pretty quick, really classy player is Jason.
Really pleased to see this. And not at all surprised.

I remember watching a few youth games on Charlton TV when Anderson and Adigun were in midfield and Adigun looked by far the better player. Always surprised we never gave him more of a chance.
I'd love to see him continue his progression. How old is he now?

Wickens has always looked really good to me when we've played them.

If we're being priced out for a move for *checks older pages" the midfield dynamo that is Tyrese Shade, I'm sure we won't have to worry about JRS coming back

I know his numbers probably don’t look amazing but Tyrese Shade will probably get a championship move this summer, I think there’s definitely something there with him.

Jones has said we need to add more players with pace and 1v1 ability and he’s right. But bringing in a proven player with these attributes is going to be very tough on our budget, so we will have to make some gambles with someone like Shade

Would be very happy with that. He’s a very good player. I remember in the 23/24 season when we played them at The Valley he had an absolute cracker of a game.

With Lincoln winning the league, I’m not sure why he’d be available. Especially after also losing their manager.

More value than cost though isn't it. If we want Shade as an impact sub and they're pricing him at the level of a marquee signing then it's not worth it, we could sign a better player for that money or find a different impact player who costs less. If we wanted JRS, which I'm quite sure we don't, I think we'd be willing to spend substantially more

Losing their manager shows why he might be available, a decent bid may be too good to turn down. I doubt they’ll have a huge budget or start handing out big payrises and new contracts to their current players.

Bristol City need a 'keeper though, probably more than us with Vitek going back to Man U

I would have thought that losing their manager might give a player a reason to move on.

Not a rumour as such but all top earners at Stockport are being asked / encouraged to leave. Looks like they've packed in their attempt/s at promotion, Challinor's gone, Rochdale manager has come in and there will be some pickings to be had.

Interesting - imagine Pye will be the first one snapped up. Would not be opposed to that at all.

Yes,a  name i've seen mentioned a lot on here - not really seen / noticed him play but wasn't impressed in the playoffs when he got bullied by the forward into conceding a goal

If anyone will cherry pick the best Lincoln players this summer,  you'd imagine it would be Bristol City.

Unless they have some kind of agreement not to sign from Lincoln but that’s unlikely

We could try and add this one up but it really could keep going to infinity...

Think he had a good season overall mind. We could help him Chart his way to success…

I haven't gone back 50 pages on this thread to see if he's been mentioned but Louie Barry seems typical of some players who are talented teenagers and Barry being in the Barcelona academy speaks volumes of his early talent.

At 22 he has spent six years being contracted to Villa and for some reason a 3.5 million move broke down to Hull in 2025 and then he had a loan terminated at Sheffield United for lack of game time and then went back to Stockport again where he scored 3 in 6 games.

I liked what I saw of him a few years ago but I have no idea on his character or where he is at in his form and ambition?
He hasn't scored above league 1 level and at 22, does he have what it takes to kick on ?

Doesn't appear to be injury prone so CAFC may not be interested in getting a cheap deal !

Although NJ did mention the other day he's aiming for 10 outfield players who could give Brazil a good game...... in which case we can just keep our current keepers  :)
