If we are going to carry on with the anti-football, learn how to take penalties.

    ;-)
Not sure we are making the champions League final any time soon, should be alright : )
    Oh ye of little faith

Personally thought that was a pen on Madueke. Why didn’t they check it? I don’t understand VAR rules.
mendes was clever in how he fouled him but at the pace NM was running, he takes him out. Speed doesn’t get taken into account on VAR.
Eze stay away from pens for England. Way too casual and flashy, as Gerrard pointed out.
Unlucky Arsenal. Would much rather they win it than PSG. Another team bankrolled by the Middle East who were tin pot before the gazillionaires rolled up but are now ‘cool’. Meh.

The ball from Gabriel penalty has just landed in Makro’s car park.
    Still no sign of Baileys

Man Utd are the only English team I would want to lose a champions league final, of those who might realistically be in one. I can’t stand PSG, so I’m gutted for Arsenal.
You’d want Chelsea, Arsenal & Liverpool to win one, but not United. Bizarre.
    100%, bizarre or not.

What is wrong with putting the ball on the spot, walking back and turning around and banging it.

The two misses involved a bit of dancing.

As said earlier always want our teams to win. But if I could pick two of their players to miss glad it was them two.
Delighted that Villa won. And was cheering them on.

But why on earth would you want Palace (in particular) or Arsenal to win?
As stated earlier I did say the odd exception. For clarity before anyone else dives in...the exception is palace and rangers. Apart from them cant shout for the French against the english...shocked others do.

Shocked that others do yet list your own exceptions.
    Shocked !

I don’t have a problem with Arteta, what do you want instead, just nodding politely like Appleton.
The bit where he ran around claiming handball and then the replay showed it hitting someone's leg summed him up for me.

All managers do it, I just find the fixation on Arteta a bit odd

Gabriel had never taken a penalty in his career. Meanwhile, Madueke has taken 12 outfield penalties in his career - bottle job.

Didn't he try and fight Cole Palmer over taking a penalty when they were both at Chelsea? Bet he wasn't scrapping for it this time. Though to be fair, if you asked me to pick one player from that Arsenal team who I thought would make a hash of his pen it would have been Madueke. Maybe he's gained self-knowledge

Exactly. Players like that always disappear in a penalty shootout.

Pardon... For clarity just for you only. I was shocked that people can shout for the frenchies against the English I am sure most people understood without spelling it out.

They are representing Arsenal not England.

    Like I would generally have
liked Andy Murray to win a tennis match unless he was
    playing Federer who was
my favourite player. However in the Olympics I would want Murray to win as he was representing GB&NI

This evening will be the first time for me to be actually cheering Arsenal on in any match since that incredible May 1989 title decider at Anfield.

This is mostly for the same reason too: to see the plastic glory hunting knobheads crawl back under their stones.  At least Liverpool, like Arsenal, were a  proper club with tradition. PSG are just the sad neighbours of the historically superior Red Star, and they should really just p*** off now.

But the main reason I can’t stand them is that the French public seem to mistake PSG for the French national team. It’s not France ffs.

    C’mon you Reds.
    Who are Red Star ?
I think it must be the other Paris club that was merged to form PSG in the early 70s although I thought the name was a nit different. But I agree with @jimmymelrose, plastic and no history.

BTW for anyone abroad with a VPN it seems we can watch free on RTE player. Just a signup needed.
Red Star finished one place outside the Ligue 2 play offs this season. They were founded in the 19th century so are one of France's oldest clubs, and the oldest Parisian club.

PSG are the result of a merger between Stade ST Germainois and Paris Football club.

Who is the annoying scouse commentator?
    Think it's Steven Gerrard.
Yep. Once an irritating scouser, always an irritating scouser.

some moronic scenes coming out of France as fans of PSG celebrate. Didn't realise that last year they did similar, in which 2 people lost their lives.

Seriously baffles me how Odegaard is Arsenal's captain and not Rice or Gabriel.

I can't think of another club who'd sub off their captain after 65 minutes of a final when he wasn't injured.
