Far too much praise directed at Chelsea the club for my liking.
Harsh. There were journalists there who probably don't even know Charlton existed. They were only there because we are playing Chelsea.

And 90% of the questions were about Chelsea. What was he supposed to say, without being rude?

I would of rather he was rude

That is the best press conference I've seen from Jones. No jabs or bravado, no getting annoyed at the press asking questions that aren't relevant to him. He's clearly so comfortable here, it's nice to see
In terms of stuff it was right up there  ;)

I wasn’t quite as convinced by the injury updates in terms of this weekend.

That is a f**king bizarre question to be asking the opposition Manager
I presume, and hope, given the way that Cawley has worded it, that he didnt ask that question himself

thought it was a very good interview, he seemed very relaxed although he did nearly chew his hand off at one point !!

I think NJ is a better coach than people give him credit for, his style of play at times doesn’t help him, but let’s not forget we’ve seen some good football under him, although some will no doubt argue that point. He thinks outside the box which is why we question things quite a lot. I like that interview because he didn’t sit there being little ole Charlton’s manager, he made it clear he expects us to perform and anything can happen. He had good respect for the opposition but his focus is us. People get blindsided by his antics on the sideline including our own fans, but he is a real coach, which is why things got better as time went on last season. I hope the boys put one over Chelsea for Nathan’s sake tomorrow because have no doubts it will be because of the way he has coached the team and prepared for the game.

Would love to see him resign at the end of his contract, I've just got a feeling he's really happy here. He's in the form of his life at Charlton and if he stays injury free will probably be player of the year again.

I should be used to Jones’ inability to let things go but his insistence to keep mentioning the disappointment of the fans complaining at us not going at a Sheffield United team down to 9 men at home astounds me. I of course buy into the “3 points is better than none” mantra but for me it was an opportunity to widen the gap in the respect of goal difference to some of the teams below us, given it could be a factor at the end of the season.

For me the frustration during the game was nothing about goal difference but was about getting a second goal and putting the game to bed just in case they managed to somehow nick a goal. After all it’s hardly something we’ve not seen before.

Agreed but given we went 1-0 up within a minute of the second half starting we failed to take advantage of any momentum - could/should have been a 3/4/5-0 game if we had approached it correctly.

But in any case, I don’t think it’s unreasonable for fans to be frustrated in that scenario.

I feel sorry for Terry Smith having to ask such sanitised questions.

Wouldn’t it fun to watch a video where the questions we all have, have to be answered!!

Tbf most, if not all, club communication people have the same limitations placed on them. It’s why we’re blessed having the likes of Monsieurs Cawley and Mendez around the place as they can ask slightly tougher ones as Rich showed today.

I don't think NJ realises just quite what that Millwall defeat has done to the 'temperature' on here or within our fanbase generally. We were never comfortable against Leicester as NJ states and will be far from comfortable Saturday. The signings this week have done f all to bring that temperature down. I think NJ needs a performance / result on Saturday as much as he ever has done since he's been here coz he might be comfortable on a 5 year deal if we go down but the fans aint.

The temperature is the loudest voices on social media, and especially one network which is driven by outrage.

The quotes from the Cawley questions are worth a read and paying Rich for before anyone puts them on here

But surely we can’t just say all social media fans are irrelevant, they are still fans( obviously not all)
