    Just ordered a Ginault Expeditioner.

I wish that the bezel wasn’t so Yacht Master-like….. but quality is incredible for the price. Currently still on 30% off pre-order price too.

I absolutely love that watch @SuedeAdidas
    enioy mate, very jealous.

What dial colour did you go for?
    Pink 😄

Afka, lots of that style watches out there if they take your fancy.
I’ve been after a pink dial watch for ages.
    Not many about.

Ideally I’d have liked the Zenith….but my budget would not allow that.

Dunno about that. It’s literally a clone isn’t it.

Not really. It’s mainly the bezel that gives that effect.

Totally different handset, totally different indexes.

Picked this up recently. Longines Spirit 37mm. This is a birth year watch for my son who was born in February, and the intention is that it will be gifted to him on his 18th birthday.

Madness, that's at the very most a £10k watch, it is really worth 990k as it was owned by someone who died on the titanic.....

Not sure what drugs the designer was on when he came up with this - a Bel Canto too far for me. Really not sure who the target audience is for this, maybe I'm too old to have a full blown acid trip on my wrist. Christopher Ward are certainly pushing the barriers with this one, but I do like the new Mk V Jump Hour.

Agreed. That jump hour is pretty cool tbf.
  • Described as 'one of the world's most complicated vintage pocket watches ever made'.

Created in 1907 by Coventry watchmaker Joseph Player, had been expected to reach around £1 million when it went under the hammer in Geneva.

Instead, it far surpassed expectations, achieving 2,238,000 Swiss francs, the equivalent of £2,122,896, and leaving auction watchers stunned.

    (Featured in today's paper).

Moving a couple of my Christopher Ward watches on. Thinning the collection and these two aren’t getting the wrist time they deserve.

Christopher Ward C65 Dune Aeolian White Sand (38mm) £600 - RRP £750, CW Warranty till Jan 29

C60 Sapphire Edge Blue Automatic Bader Bracelet (42mm) £750 - RRP - £1095, CW Warranty till May 29

Send me a message if you are interested.
  • Had built up this collection, also had a seamaster which was robbed off my wrist. Sold them all now, but the one I miss the most is the Tudor, what a great watch that is. Also crazy how the Tudor is technically smaller than the yachtmaster, but looks and wears bigger.  Got my eye on the 54…

Tissot make some great watches, I have a PRX with a Green dial, most comfortable metal strap on any watch I have. They do a titanium one now in 38mm which I'm tempted to get....

Just before Christmas I went to Burlington Arcade to see my Nephew who works in one of the watch shops. As we left Gordon Ramsey came in!

Anyway, I took the opportunity to try on two of my favourite watches. I so very want one, but in reality working in the city and living on the outskirts of London, so very sadly you are asking to be mugged, so I'll leave them here with a tear in my eye!! I could even have had them for a very decent price (cost plus £500)  :(

Hot off NOT buying a PP Nautilus I’ve just ordered a Tudor Black bay 54 on bracelet (but added the Tudor rubber strap) to cheer me up 😂

should have next week, a little over 20% off retail, the perks of a nephew in the trade.

You got offered a nautilus for rrp + 500 quid? Why not just lift it and flip it?

Not RRP (as technically doesn’t exist as discontinued), cost to them plus £500. 5711 was discontinued sometime in 2021, the 5712 about a year ago.

£73k for the 5711 and £82k for the 5712. Dealers are broadly paying £70k and £80k. One of my colleagues sold a 5711 about 2.5 years ago for £125k but that was at the height, a watch he paid £19k for about 12 years before!! A lot of dealers are just sitting on them in the hope they go back up.

I was tempted with the 5712 as I think they may go up a bit, but in reality I can safely return a decent amount elsewhere on that amount.

Joking aside. Might be the photos don’t do them justice, but those PPs just look bog standard to me and don’t come close to some of the (less expensive) watches on this thread I’ve had proper envy over

Emperors new clothes, AFKA. The holy trinity of PP, AP and VC rule the roost but others such as Glashutte Original and Moser are up there, and more affordable (a relative term of course) - as are Rolex who make bloody fine watches but they are about perceived luxury (and I admit to being a fan boy!).

Watches, like many other luxury items, are more about perceptions and image than reality.

Thought you meant 500 over catalogue price, was going to say!
