Pubs for Coventry

Anyone recommend a pub for Saturday preferably close to Coventry station. Something decent that sells real ale.

He needs to stay out of the pub and concentrate on the game.

My Cov mate's response to the question I asked him a couple of days ago:

Sure thing. All within 10mins walk from the station:

    - The Old Windmill, on Spon Street. Old, historic pub.

    - Triumph Brewhouse, Parkside. Modern, but independent micropub.

    - Hops D'Amour, Corporation St. Another independent micropub. Really good selection of Ales.

    - The Squirrel, Greyfriars Lane. Nice pub which is also a curry house.

A thumbs up for The Old Windmill, excellent for cask ale.
Go to the back to see about ten casks racked and ready with some interesting beers. There's a Scottish stout (half pint) with a malt whisky for a fiver too.
  • anyone know good parking?

Looks like its on site (which takes an age to get out of) or "just park" facilities. Streets within 2 miles of the ground seem to be permits.

Oh for the days of Forest Green and Cheltenham when you could park 200 yards from the away end.
  • Considering the amount of injuries we have at the moment I'd prefer Coventry stays out of the pub.

    Dhillons Brewery is decent.
