Looks like Norwich are going to appoint ex Rangers manager Philippe Clement
A bit of a "who's available " type of appointment, rather than an obvious step up.

Very random job to take, considering they have no money and a very weak squad.

Flip of that is there’s low expectations and if it goes wrong then he won’t be to blame. He can learn on the job

The egos of so many top players prevent them from taking a job below what they believe is akin to their status in the game. They are happy to accept one that is in the top two tiers, fail due to inexperience and then struggle to get another job.

Nigel Clough has never done that and that is the reason for his longevity in the game. Being a family man (and probably as a result of seeing Brian and his issues) he's always been close to home and although flirting with the higher reaches at Derby and Sheffield United he has never risked what he considers to be a content life. You don't manage just four clubs in 27 years, for 1,340 games in total, without doing something right especially at clubs like Burton and Mansfield with their lack of money.

A better example, perhaps, of someone who started at the bottom and who did progress to the top, is Martin O'Neill. He started at Grantham Town and then Shepshed Charterhouse followed by seven years at Wycombe. He didn't do too badly either following that grounding.

They were awful last season too. Seems to be a Carlisle situation

The EFL without Bristol Rovers in it would be unbelievable. They really are part of the furniture.

A few reports online that Glasner has told Palace he won't renew his contract and will leave at the end of this season.

Palace are apparently lining up the Getafe manager Jose Bordalas as his replacement.

He does deserve a big move, in my objective opinion, given the job he has done.
Can tell you, from stuff I've heard first hand , Arsenal fans would take him if they rid of Arteta, Slott isn't safe at Liverpool, Maresca has just had a bad 48 hrs (and his name did pop up on talksport today), Man Utd (well it is Man Utd).  I would say Newcastle is a potential club for him as well.
The only club out of the six I can't see him going to is Man City.

Yeah he might be timing his exit very well there.

I am hoping Palace family to get into Europe for next year and Glasner leaves at the end of the season with Guehi going on a free.
Mateta with one yr left on his contract demands a move and Wharton misses the north so moves to Man Utd.
Then they crumble badly and get relegated.

Someone needs to hack into the Palace Manager scouting database, and pinch every Managerial target they ideally want, meaning they're left with no other option but to hire Karel Fraeye - Knowing those jammy bastards, they'll hire this Getafe bloke and win the Champions League with him, although saying that, they'll probably manage to achieve that with Fraeye given how flukey they are.

We could hope that this Bordalas chap is the Spanish equivalent of Frank de Boer but worse.
