Well said TT, because his hand is in the air, nothing obvious about his alleged hand ball...TellyTubby said:

I'm not saying that he didn't handle it, but I've watched these clips at least a dozen times and I honestly can't say that I can see him handle it or not. Neither the ref nor the lino react in anyway, so why on earth did the ref change his mind, and who would have had a better view?fenaddick said:Here’s a clip of the pen, it 100% hits his fist. It's moments like this that refs should explain their decisions for clarity, or their combined reputation will only suffer.
I don't believe that anybody else in ground thought it was obvious either.
Maybe time to put it all down to luck, "good" for Wrexham and "bad" for us,,,and move on..2 -

Once again the international break has come at the right time for us as we have a long injury list and a few players are coming down with some kind of bug
Better finishing could have made for a very different result. In a game of 2 halves we won the first but missed a few chances and were foiled by some very good goalkeeping
Wrexham were far better in the second half but it still took a fluky penalty for them to score. A draw would have been a fair result.
BUT (all together now) we've gotta start scoring more to get wins on the board
We're all hoping that the sick and lame get well soon and that we come back after the break, fit, healthy and raring to go again1 -
We also went to Ipswich and won 3-0.Crispywood said:
4? We’re playing the best 2 sides in the league (now Carrick has gone) away from home and on paper the 2nd best squad in the division with a new manager. I’ll be happy if we can get 1-2 points from the next 3, I’m all for being optimistic but it’s not like we’re fighting for top 2Croydon said:
4 points from the next 3, bearing in mind who we're playing, would be a great return.ValleyGary said:Despise Wrexham, absolute shit hole full of Welsh mugs.Hernandez is a bell end for that, thick as shit.
We need to try get 4 points from the next three otherwise I can see a slide coming on.
Absolutely not out the question we can nick a point away at Stoke and beat Southampton at home. I hope NJ and the players have a similar mindset.6 -
I’m with you. I’ve watched it a few times and still can’t be certain it hit his hand. There’s no way the officials could be certain in real time and if you can’t be certain you don’t give it. Anyway, neither the ref or linesman gave it so I’d really like to know who made the decision. Are 4th officials now reffing the game?TellyTubby said:

Not only can you see the ball hit his hand here you can see the ball change direction, his fingers bend back and the fact the ball goes over his head

I cannot for the life of me fathom wtf Hernandez was trying to do. There was no oppo player near him and the ball was heading out of the danger area.
Seeing it live and on several replays I am still not sure it hit his hand, but then it didn't look like he headed it either. But his ridiculous arm positions gave the ref a decision to make.
It looked more like a mid air tasering than an attempt to head a football.
Also, of course it was the ref's decision, he just took a while to make up his mind. Was probably as bamboozled as we were0 -
At last, something definitive. Thanks.fenaddick said:Not only can you see the ball hit his hand here you can see the ball change direction, his fingers bend back and the fact the ball goes over his head

I agree with you, it shows the offence. I never claimed that it never happened, just that I don't get how anyone could be sure at the time, and given the lack of reaction from absolutely everyone, who decided it was a pen and brought it to the attention of the ref?
Im not complaining about the decision, just confused.3 -
I still think it was the ref who made the decision, he just took a second to do so which is fine. There's an angle earlier in the thread where you can see the ref is looking right at it1
-
Ultimately there was no reason for him to have his arms up in the air like that anyway. Whether or not it did actually hit his hand in the event, it absolutely definitely would NOT have done if he hadn't decided to imitate Michael Jordan in Space Jam.LargeAddick said:

Just think, if it wasn't for "The hand of Onel" we would have had naf all to talk about...😉5

Really ugly watch that. Like a 5 year old trying to head a football for the first time. Horrible technique and timing.fenaddick said:Not only can you see the ball hit his hand here you can see the ball change direction, his fingers bend back and the fact the ball goes over his head

Baffling really, and Onel playing out of position is no explanation for that error either.Exiled_Addick said:

Maybe he plays in a position where he doesn't need to head the ball that often cos he's so bad at it? 🤷♀️0

Not sure it matters who made the decision, it is clearly the right decision. Annoying as he had no need to do it, but there you go. Whilst it is frustrating to lose, when you think we had 3 key defenders out, one defender injured but playing, two defenders with flu but playing, our captain with flu and on the bench, last season's top scorer injured and another key striker injured in the warm up then the fact we feel sore to lose 1-0 away from home to a team who spent £30-40M in the summer shows what a fantastic job we are doing.10

A totally wasted point. Needless penalty. We need these points. Every single one. Every match. COYR!0

Send the lads away for a few days to somewhere hot. Regroup. Go again. It’s a great start to the season.0
-
Yeah not saying I've seen anyone going negative, but I hope they don't. We're doing well so far and so long as we stay up we've achieved the goal for this season.
However... I personally think we created enough chances to score, but our non-scoring players in those good positions couldn't finish. If I were to have one complaint this season, that would be it. Without midfield goals we'd been in a much worse position.
Something to consider in January in my opinion, whether that's about supplying better service or having players that can do something with the current service.3 -

Leaburn wasn’t on the bench to bring on.AFKABartram said:Retrospectively, fair play to Wrexham. They ‘upped it’ as a team and fans second half and we just didn’t have enough in an offensive sense to trouble them. The real frustrating thing was I thought we had just about weathered their storm when we gave away the stupid penalty. Utterly bizarre it was in front of the home end and not a single fan of theirs claimed for it. Just Wrexham’s luck they once again had the most eagle eyed of officials there.Lot of frustration Leaburn wasn’t brought on to give us some form of out ball 2nd half, but I don’t think many in ground knew of the injury. Was clear mid second half a few players are not 100%. Lloyd Jones looked like he was really struggling, but the level of commitment this group show is extraordinary. It’s a really tough league, I’ve tried being cautious when others are saying we should look be looking forwards, but it’s very easy to go a month without a win here and pressure then mounts. The international break has been good timed.Stayed the weekend in Wrexham. Pretty amazing they have taken a relatively small town the size of Tonbridge to the fringes of the Premier League. Feel they may have hit their ceiling now.

Also - a team who recently put a few past Coventry. On another day thats a 0-0, 1-1 or even a 1-2, so on reflection another performance I take encouragement from personally. NJ has also now caught the bug, apparently. International break perfectly timed for us - thank you to the football Gods. Now bring back our goalscoring God-den, please0

I hadn’t seen the handball incident until just now. Stupid - no attacking player around him either putting him under pressure. I can’t stand it when players do something that stupid. All that running the likes of Tanto was doing and the shift from Jones and Ramsay, and then Hernandez does that. Really poor2

Spot on. My feelings entirely. To see a valuable point needlessly squandered is a real gutful. Itm, bring on The Saints and let's put this right straightaway. We'll be fine. A top half finish and neigh on 70 points. A solid first season back in the second most competitive league in Europe.1
-
We need Bell or Edwards back asap, or need to find a better third choice left back. Not sure of that means moving Bree or Ramsay over there and bringing JRC or Apter in at right back or what, but Hernandez has not looked good there at all, imo, and, although he put in a half decent shift on Saturday, TC is needed further up the pitch. We need a solution though because I think it’s going to start hurting us.cabbles said:I hadn’t seen the handball incident until just now. I think we are in a very vulnerable position at the moment. Bell and Burke both have a history of being injured for periods and there is no sign of Edwards coming back. None of the back ups playing wingback are good enough.
But our main threat is if Lloyd Jones is injured, for whom we have no back up and who is pivotal to our whole game plan. We need another good centre back asap, with Gillesphey as reserve. Priority for January.2 -
I'm still livid with Hernandez. Players were playing through illness and injury and he does that. I don't know how Jones will react, but I have lost trust in the player.0
