Probably doesn't belong in here but there's no Champions League thread I can find.

Micky Van De Ven with one of the most outrageous goals I think I've ever seen for Spurs tonight. He's run what 80 yards and finished it like a prime striker.

Meh... Bit of a Sonny Carey wannabe if you ask me... Bet he couldn't do it on a Tuesday night under the lights at the Valley

I like how, if you listen carefully a few seconds from the end, you hear someone saying “What a fucking goal that was!”

I'm pretty sure that was Joe Hart 😂

    Jesus. Spurs are really bad.
cant actually remember a worse performance from a Spurs side than that under any manager.
Admittedly i didn't see it but it surely wasn't as bad as that Newcastle defeat when you were 5-0 down after about 20 minutes?

That cup game at Tamworth when you needed extra time to score against them was pretty dire too.
For clarification, At home I'm talking about (but fair point, them two performances were well up there!)

I've tried to write something here about 3-4 times and deleted it because it turns in a complete rant, I dont even know where to start.

Plus points: Kudus, Sarr, Vicario, Set Pieces

Negative points:  Lack of attacking moments, no patterns of play, no balance in midfield (Sarr & Bergvall give us something different yet get sacrificed for two 6s at home), no natural width on the left with Udogie out of the side or no decent PL standard left wing option (say Hi Odobert and Tel), no creativity (no Maddison/Kulusevski and Xavi Simmons looks like a poor mans Steven Bergwyn and way out of his depth!), no fit and decent centre forward (Solanke injured, Richarlison reverting to Prime Richarlison, Kolo Muani looks shocked to be at Spurs)...

I've not got an issue with how he sets us up going away, it works and it has been working reasonably well but we need to see a massive improvement at home.
Granted the opposition were poor in my opinion but we're a totally different side when Udogie gives us width on the left and there's some legs in midfield with Sarr.

Best we've played all season by a country mile last night, Frank must have given them a rocket up their behinds after Saturday.

As for vdV, bloody ridiculous.  Even more ridiculous was the sending off of Johnson. The game is gone if that is a red.

From the extended highlights, Kolo Muani had enough good chances for a hattrick. Doesn't look anywhere near Premier League / Champions League quality.

I'll reserve judgement on him until he is fit enough to complete a full 90 mins.  I'm prepared to give him a long run given the alternative is the most dog shit Brazilian 'no.9' the world has ever seen.

I would have thought Sunderland are awarded a penalty if that hadn’t gone in?

Had the misfortune to take my 12 year old to West Ham v Burnley

what a soulless stadium and there was no atmosphere at all other than the odd rendition of Bubbles.

two really poor quality teams on show.

A couple of posters on here (myself included) were talking a couple of weeks ago about how Gary Neville shouldn’t be given Man U games and Jamie Carragher shouldn’t be given Liverpool games on Sky.
I stand by this. But today I have to add…

Clinton Morrison should not be given Palace games. His bias in the Brighton game today is borderline insane.

(I could stretch to “Clinton Morrison shouldn’t have a job in broadcasting”, but that’s a different discussion! 😂)

Forest and West Ham now starting to turn the corner, while both Leeds and Burnley have lost 2 on the spin. To an extent, the natural order is starting to reassert itself.

Good start to the City - Liverpool game. Thought Doku was looking for contact for the pen, didn’t expect Haaland not to score though

Ruling that Liverpool goal out for offside didn’t seem as harsh to me and Neville was making out - Robertson literally had to duck out of the flight of the ball as it went in?!

Think it’s one where you’re annoyed if you score and it’s ruled out but you’re also annoyed if you concede and it stands. It’s a borderline call
  • The majority of people I speak to seem to think it's Arsenal's year,  but I said a few weeks back & I stand by it........

Man City will win the league

Agree - it’s hard to envisage Arsenal actually winning the league.

Joe Lewis has been pardoned by Trump for what was described by some misguided people as "brazen" insider trading. I don't believe these "trumped" up charges any more than I think that Biden didn't lose by a landslide in 2020 or that Trump's name is in the Epstein Files. It's all fairy tales.

If the above stops Arsenal winning the premier league, I'm all for it

Perhaps he's been pardoned for his role in getting rid of Levy?!

(Although by all accounts, it sounds like Levy managed al that himself!)
