    Boots on Netflix

Set in the late 80’s/early 90's about a gay lad that joins the US Marines. Funny, moving and well acted.

    Really enjoying it.
Finished this last night, thoroughly enjoyable and easy watch.

The new Daisy May and Charlie Cooper show - Nightwatch - is pretty good.

They go ghost hunting, but it has a Go Fishing vibe and is more about them reconnecting and their relationship.
I hope she’s gone for good on NMTB.
She’s become a real ‘topper’ show off and the show is much better with her off of it.

    The Perfect Neighbor on Netflix.

Police bodycam footage and investigative interviews covering the consequences of Florida's "stand your ground" laws during a neighbourhood dispute.

Wasn't sure I'd enjoy it at first but was a good watch if you like that sort of thing.

I can't stand Daisy May Cooper.
Just a very loud, unfunny, show off.
I stopped watching NMTB as a result of her joining.

Watched this the other night after a friend's recommendation. Some of that bodycam footage gets pretty emotional.

Another one is American Murder: Gabby Pepito about a woman who goes missing whilst travelling across the US with her boyfriend.
  • Just finished new season of Trigger point
Best yet, great to see Greenwich

I did think they went to far filming the scene with the dad and kids. That should have been private

Agree. A proper ‘topper’ n’all. Always had to come up with a story that’s more outrageous than one told by someone else on the show.

Only Courtney Love made her seem vaguely bareable .

I was at the filming of the episode with Courtney Love as guest captain.

They properly stitched her up in the edit. She was actually really funny and had the audience and panel in stitches.

Clearly not what the production staff wanted as the cut most of her good stuff out and left in bits where she was rambling or ‘acting up’

She’s written some great stuff, though.

I have to say I was somewhat disappointed at the last episode of Slow Horses, just didn’t have the same bang of the previous series.

Agree. Seemed a bit rushed. Previous eps in this series had been top quality, so was just a step down from excellent.

Finished watching Riot Women - really enjoyed it. Some great storylines and hoping for a second series.

    Excellent cast.

    The Ridge

british/nz crime collab on BBC IPLAYER starring the Karen Pirie woman.

Quite enjoyed, almost a dark comedy in some bits.

OK, insanely late on this but just started series 1 of Walking Dead with my 12 year old.

Enjoying but surprised only 6 episodes.

I know it goes on for quite a few seasons, so how long before I have had enough of it?

If you make it through S2 then you'll enjoy S3 to S6 I reckon, then it goes downhill.

I enjoyed it for a while, but it got too repetitive for me:
Battle, recover, move, meet other people, settle, someone turns out to be a nutter, repeat ad nauseam.
I also found that I became increasingly ambivalent to whether the main characters lived or died. Ended up not giving a shit about any of them because they were all twats.

More of a turn off for me though, was how they’d have walkers groaning and gurning so you can hear them coming from 200yards, then in the next scene someone gets snuck up on and attacked by what can only be described as a gang of ninja zombies. Drove me potty.

Absolutely love the new series of Slow Horses.

The Batman line last week had me in stitches.
Agreed - one of my favourite lines. Shrek has read the books which he says are even better, as so much more in the words than is conveyed on screen
Totally agree. The TV series is excellent but the books are even better.

So many Ghost programmes on minor TV stations. Why? It's total bullshit.

Honestly first season is really really good. Especially the first couple of episodes, but yeah afterwards gets extremely formulaic and predictable.

The arcs do seem to repeat when you look at it like that. I prefer to remember the really good stuff that was hidden among the more dialled in episodes and arcs. Negan is brilliant when he turns up so is King Ezekiel, the whisperers are cool especially his pet. Abraham gets some quality lines and his missus is smoking hot. The Governor and Merle had some good stuff also and I'm certain I could think of other stuff. Overall it ran its course but for anyone starting from day dot I think it will be a great watch with all the other series the producers made too

Late to the party, but am now up to season 3 of Mayor of Kingstown on Paramount +. Admittedly the plot is ridiculously over the top, but quite enjoying it.

There are a couple of shows coming to Netflix that are a few years old now, I recommend them both. They could not be any different in styles.Mr. Mercedes (TV Series 2017–2019) - IMDbFuture Man (TV Series 2017–2020) - IMDb

Mr Mercedes is based on the Stephen King novel & is thoroughly recommended.
