Finished Alien Earth this week and really enjoyed it, not so much for the classic xenomorphs, who were more of a bit player really, but for the introduction of the various new types of alien monstrosities, especially the T.Ocellus, which was an incredibly creepy creation. Can't wait for series 2!

Alien Earth stuffed the landing a bit for me

Aside from the soundtrack being phenomenal at the end of every episode there were a few missed open goals. Some brilliant moments but the last episode being short and very formulaic

Not a series but watched Marching Powder at the weekend.

    I mean, WTAF.
  • Would recommend watching The Firm part of the Screen Two series on Iplayer. A drama made in 89 about football hooliganism. Gary Oldman is excellent.

Also starring Phil Mitchell and Jim McDonald. 😂

I watched that, it’s got to be up there as one of the worst films ever. I think the purpose of the film is to try and get in the Guinness book of records for saying the word c##t the most times in a film.

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this or not, or even how new it is, but Katla on Netflix is absolutely weird, but in a good way.

Hoping it’s good, as it written by the same writer as Peaky Blinders.

Watched the first 4 or 5 and very much enjoying...
  • Only murders in the building, me and my wife’s guilty pleasure are cheesy murder mysteries. But even this series is really taking the piss in terms of realism.

Alice in Borderland , season 3 is out now, i've binged the last few days but disappointed only 6 episodes so one left for me, the first episode took a bit long getting into it again but still a great series and probably a better version than Squid games , those that haven't watched before. (Netflix)

It's from 2019, but started The Spy on Netflix this week.

Enjoying it so far. Helps that I prefer Sacha Baron Cohen in his more serious roles (Trial of Chicago 7, Hugo) than his comedy characters.

Is it just Peaky Blinders with Irish accents? From the trailers there’s something about it that’s putting me off.

Really underrated series IMO. SB-C is great in it.

There's definitely a lot 'style' and the filters used are annoying me sometimes, but there's enough substance in there for me to still be watching it...

    Stick

Its beautiful, tiny bit colour by numbers but whatever. The heart of it and the actual substance is excellent. Owen Wilson is fantastic and Marc Maron steals every scene he is in. Some properly funny moments and some real heart. Its set around golf which I personally give not a shit for but it works as a vehicle perfectly to tell a story of the underdog seeking redemption without becoming Happy Gilmore

Firstly ‘How Are You? (I’m Alan Partridge)’. I mean what the actual fuck. Did someone actually commission that?

Secondly, Blue Lights. Four episodes into current series, outstanding.

I'm rewatching Stranger Things too - forgot how young they were at the start, how bad the weird gang that Number 8 had was in S2.

I've always liked S3 a lot too - less scary and dramatic but just a fun watch.
